there is like tons of issues with WWE and a lot of the issues is because of Vince and its not even writers or producers fault they have to create storylines and come up with ideas that they think Vince is going to like cause they have no choice but to play to an audience of one and if someone gets themselves over on their own and without the help of the WWE machine Vince will hate it and will end up punishing them since it's not what he wants.

I think a cool thing to put on the network could be the unedited interviews that the wrestlers and backstage guys do for all the DVD's they release. An example would be them uploading the full Eric Bishoff Interview where he has the 2002 Raw set in the background. WWE have hundreds of these interviews in their vault.

Saying that the current roster is "frankly, not as ambitious as it was in the attitude era" was an extremely BOLD thing for Vince to say. Many will disagree with that statement, but externally it does seem to be the truth. Most people are happy to be on T.V. and they will do whatever they're told to, however humiliating and degrading it might be.
@PresidentJackBauer
@PresidentJackBauer 10 лет назад
If you don't do those humiliating things on tv you won't go anywhere. It makes no sense for him to say that because it is clear the wrestlers don't have any say so with their creative direction.
@Gootothesecond
@Gootothesecond 10 лет назад
What's most telling is that the lack of ambition seems to be the consistent narrative of the guys from the '90s and early 2000s. Kevin Nash said that it used to be like walking through a shark tank when he was there but, when he came back for the feud with Punk, he said that it was like a bunch of guys waiting to be told what to do and for Vince to anoint them instead of going for their spot. Austin's touched on it himself before the podcast.
@jackjohnsonv3369
@jackjohnsonv3369 10 лет назад
B Blackwell But Wrestlers these days just wait to be pushed, they should realise by now that WWE pushes who they want, and if you're not one of them you have to do something different, think outside the box whether it be changing up the mannerisms you use, creating a memorable catchphrases, putting a unique spin on moves when in the ring, adding emphasis on promos and making it seem as if your life depends on it, you want get fired for doing stuff like that.
@ell635
@ell635 10 лет назад
Even Jericho doesn't argue creative anymore he kinda takes advantage of the system by just doing what he's told Sure before he comes back he negotiates good opponents and programme, but what those programmes consist of? Jericho just goes with the flow. Nobody is trying hard to better themselves. And Vince was wrong, Cena wasn't the last man to grab that brass ring. It was probably Punk & Bryan
@PresidentJackBauer
@PresidentJackBauer 10 лет назад
Jack Johnson V3 That worked out well for Zack Ryder for about a month then they buried him. The problem is even if you get over the creative don't know how to keep you over. Rybacks first push was killed when they turned him heel for no reason. They strip guys off everything that gets them over. Sandow was good then they took away his robe and Mic and jobbed him out to cena. Wwe inconsistency it's what kills everything.

As far as Cesaro goes, somebody should have put "The Transporter " gimmick on him and let him run wild. A suit, Black BMW, and some burned rubber would have been huge for him. The fact that he is much stronger than guys at least 75 to 100 pounds heavier than him is huge. A rivalry between him and Brock would have been awesome because some that is smaller than Lesnar and probably could over power and out wrestle him. WWE is failing big time with this guy

DumbPunk That's actually a very good question. Why hire talent that doesn't have talent. I think that "a slap in the face to the guys in the locker room" was an understatement, considering it was said about three (3) times or more. I know I'm a little late to this one, but something was said here that really caught me. According to what was said about Vince and Punk working together again, Vince said there wasn't anyone who could bring Punk back to the table to get them to talk. Austin was brought back to the table by Jim Ross. So why not Paul Heyman for Punk? I have no idea what the relationship is between punk and Heyman now, and I know Heyman is with Brock doing the Goldberg story line, but couldn't he call Punk and set up a meeting with Vince. Punk even said that Triple H called him and wanted to talk and Punk said that he was willing to talk with him after he got back from his honeymoon. I think that shows that maybe Punk would be willing to work things out if a good mediator was in play, and I think that would be Heyman.

i would agree but there has been so many wrestlers that WWE let go that have said that they would come in with their own ideas about their character only to be shot down by WWE writers that know anything about the history of pro wrestling tell them "No". wrestlers being told every idea they had was shot down so they went out on TV with stupid gimmicks that didnt get over and to have people say "none of these guys try to push a buttons"

There's some credence to that theory. After all, he made an effort to created genuine hostility backstage between the former WCW employees and his longterm WWF employees back when he first purchased WCW. He was under the impression that the more genuine heat he could generate between the two groups, the better the potential feud would be.

Brock Lesnar not appearing on tv as often as fans want him to, especially as champion, isn't only because of contractual negotiations previously made, but McMahon explained that it also had to do with overexposure, which I think played a large role in negotiations into how many appearances they wanted him for. And he referenced Jake the Snake with his python coming out to the ring being less special than it was initially. It's a point that I agree with. Could they do a few vignettes and spread them out throughout the year to keep Brock relevant and people satisfied/entertained? Definitely. You do have a point. Like you mentioned, there are a lot of people bitching about Brock not being on tv enough, especially as champion and it's an argument that I also agree with Vince on. And to me, this is partly why people don't care about the talent/roster. They have guys on every week, sometimes more than once a week, and it loses its appeal. They should cut down their pay-per views from 12-13 down to 6 and instead of throwing a ppv every month, you'd have about a month and a half to two months to build up a fight. The way they have it now, in a few of these ppvs, they have even less than a month to build a storyline to a fight. It becomes forced, and guys are then obligated to show up every week to sell the ppv and it overexposes the talent.
@MasterOctagon
@MasterOctagon 9 лет назад
Batman I've been saying that PPV's should get cut down, a long time ago! There's no reason to have a damn PPV once and sometimes twice a month. Storylines don't have time to build and everything is forced

vincentrich There you go throwing around previously used epithets again (fan-boy). The fact of the matter is I have bought the network twice this year. I bought it in May and I had to unfortunately pay for it in November when it was free. I liked portions of it, especially some of the regular ECW shows they had and watching Heatwave 99 was cool because of the barbwire spot tazz and tajiri did. Why should anyone buy the network when the person that owns the damn company shits on his own talent? How is Zack Ryder, a guy that worked to get himself over with nothing but himself, a camera, and youtube, a lazy millennial? if you chose to continue to support the network by all means continue. I think I will take my chances on the New Japan Pro Network instead.

The whole thing with savage was when he left to WCW he took the Slim Jim contract WWF had at the time with him. That pissed Vince off to no end. Lanny Poffo confirmed this in a interview on youtube. Doug from rvdtito4life, on the other hand said in one of his RU-vid videos afterwards something like "The Undertaker's undefeated streak ending was long over-due & if The Undertaker were to have won against a legitimate bad-ass like Brock Lesnar, it wouldn't have been believable."... I was hoping that The Undertaker would've gone into the WWE Hall-Of-Fame as the first wrestler in history to have had a undefeated streak at 'WrestleMania', but, there's not much more that you can do about that, now, is there?...

There's two sides to every story. The honest side... and then there's the bullshite political spin of a man who is out of touch with the times, his wrestlers, and his audience, trying to repair the broken reputation of his petty company. Vince's comments about Cesaro say it all. It's so obvious Cesaro would have been over as a babyface wtih the Cesaro Swing. Vince and the WWE get it wrong so often. From Fang McFrost to babyface Batista coming back to headline Wrestlemania while Daniel Bryan wrestles Sheamus on the mid-card. Thank you CM Punk, for everything. You would think the future of the WWE would be bright with Zayn, KENTA, Steen, and Devitt, but I have no faith that Vince and the WWE will know what to do with them. Brandon Dove The WWE's TV ratings have dropped almost 50% in the last decade. Vince promised the board and investors he would get a new TV deal that would double their money. After all the networks passed he was forced to resign the old deal with egg on his face. The WWE Network is failing miserably to reach it's goal of 1 mil subscribers and live up to expectations. They can't afford to pay Brock, their champion, to show up more than 4 times a year. Vince can spin special attraction, but they just can't afford him. The roster is as main event thin as it's ever been because according to Vince the roster lacks ambition(aka Vince only cares about Cena). Losing CM Punk hurt them. That's why Vince wants him back after everything that's happened. Sure some people will continue to watch and pay, but the WWE is in decline, and that's not winning to me.

Stephanie McMahon and he said some other shit about her and triple h too its like everyone forgot about that or just passes that by

@GLITZandGLOOM 9 лет назад
Plenty of people bring it up and remember it. He said he was gonna "take your girl around the block" or something to that effect. If you're referring to interviewers specifically, why don't they mention it to Hunter, Steph, or Vince... that's different. But Solomonster himself has mentioned that before.

I never took those Savage/Stephanie underage sex rumours as meaning when she was a child, surely people mean before she was 18 and thus legal. She would have been 18 the same year he left (and note that it's not like Vince found out and fired him, he clearly didn't know) so I guess it could have been any time but I always thought of it as her at 17 or something, I think I've even heard that age mentioned in the rumour. From my understanding of American law (I imagine it varies) that would still be classed as underage sex, whereas in the UK it wouldn't, but if that's the case then it doesn't make sense to say he's a paedophile. No matter how severe a crime that would be, I think it's completely absurd to putting it in the same category as having sex with a child which I don't think anybodyd suspects him of. Randy alluded to it to get heat from Triple H in his website promo remember, I can't imagine he'd do that if he'd had sex with her as a child.

I come back to this years later, and Solomonster himself mentions Roman being the guy to end Undertaker's streak. They ended up having Roman retire the man a few years later anyway, so while I liked Brock ending the streak, how did Vince not think Roman was the guy to do it in the first place? He was "their guy" already at that point, just before his mega push.

I dont see why people are so upset about Vince's comments on Cesaro. Cesaro is a magnificent athlete and in the ring he could do things that not many people can do. People got over his giant swing and uppercut. But you've to be either naive or new to the wrestling industry thinking that such talents are enough to be a top player in WWE. We've had Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, Benjamin, Piper, Ted DiBiase and etc who were all talented in either in-ring work or acting chops but not BOTH. These guys weren't regarded as the top guys because they are lacking something intangible. Thats where Cesaro falls in. When you look at guys like say...Jericho and Angle. They are both very good wrestlers, they are entertaining and easy to get behind and against with. Thats what gets you to the top. Cesaro could have been booked better but saying that he should be among the top is just a little too far-fetched.

This interview proved how out of touch Vince is.. Even though an outsider doesn't truly know Vince, by watching the interview you can understand the complaints ppl had who've worked with him in the past. Being dismissive, single minded and out of touch with reality.. You can't get ppl to like your product if you crap on your roster by saying how lack luster they are.. But one can imagine why they don't ask questions or go outside of the box. Its because the creative team stiffles any ideas but they're own and you have this weird, bully, bipolar work environment that incentivize people not to ask questions and go with the flow no matter how bad the idea is.. That's why people like Austin, and Punk left. Because they saw through the administrative b.s. McMahon says he wants the talent to be sharks and vocal but he fires the people who are vocal (see Jim Ross.). Then on top of that, he's a shady businessman which leaves more bad blood with ex talent.

Hate how easily Vince can sell the story right under people's noses. I like Austin, but it's obvious that his character, written as well as "The Rattlesnake", "Stone Cold" was, he was a lot more perceptive and sharp-eyed than he really is. That's the biggest shame, I thought that was his, I didn't think it was part of the show. One thing about CM Punk, nowhere near as entertaining, funny or badass as Austin, BUT, he's far smarter. Given the same bullshit Vince is throwing here, Punk would be able to cut through it like a knife. The only redeeming thing is that Austin is on "The Network" (nana-nana-nana-Leader/ Yvan et nioj/ cult-talk). Maybe he felt he couldn't be straight. But then that basically fucks up the whole point of Stone Cold's podcast and makes it a bit of a waste of time. Anyway Vince, you are out of touch with the fans, though I know you're answering that question thinking of little kids, the brats don't drive, and you've decimated your adult viewership pursuing cheesy boring toddler-humour. People wanted CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, now Ziggler, Rusev and Cesaro, yet you continue to send out Cena, Ryback, Batista, HHH. Boring. Boring boring boring. AND, a whole EXTRA HOUR! Of boring. Oh, but bluh bluh bluh, fluster fluster, you're in touch with your fans. Yet they boo Cena every single week. They've NEVER accepted him. And, if there are MULTIPLE main events, then surely putting Punk at the end of the show makes no difference, seeing as there are MULTIPLE main events, what difference does that main event have to the others? Why not put the guy in there? Just for shits and giggles.

The creative process has to do with distributors and and stuff because of the times we live in. I've long said that it's not so much WWE'S desire to sanitize and dial down everything, it's the network and sponsors they have deals with. Don't get me wrong, I blame Vince for that because every time they sign one of these deals, especially their television rights deal, they're basically selling out more to the devil in terms of what they can or cannot do. I especiall think this was the case over the summer with thr latrest TV deal. NBC knee Vince shot himself in the foot by overhyping the network and knew they could take him to the cleaners not only on money. But promotions and content. When you get on Wall streets shit list, companies like that have you by the balls and they know it. You think Vince came up with the idea to have todd chrisley on RAW? Hell no! They want to do movies, the company says ok, but you're going to use your international tv show to promote. And then you factor in the fear of bad PR WWE has been peeing their pants over since Benoit, and WOAHLAH!

The comment by Vince that there was no one that could have bridged the gap with CM Punk and WWE is a LIE! What about uh um maybe PAUL HEYMAN? Does Paul not currently work for WWE, and is he not a close friend of CM Punk? What about John Cena? Yea maybe they don't exactly like each other but they had a working relationship and respect was built up. If they really wanted to make Cena look like a hero for once, why not have him stick his neck out for Punk again when he was in need of help in making sense of things? Cena is the perfect foil for punk but also could have been a friend when he needed one most. Fact is HHH acted like a jealous boob and felt that Punk was a threat to his own legacy which I don't see how that is even possible...HHH has already cemented his legacy and should have been happy with that and he needs to move on. It is pathetic that they let such an asset go this way and think that was going to be okay.
@michaelreborn9656
@michaelreborn9656 9 лет назад
Epic TrololoGuy And the fact that HHH let that happen to Punk makes me laugh when he talks about how he bridged the gap between Warrior and WWE. I guess it's easier to bridge the gap to Vince's grudges when there's lots of money and touching moments to be had, but not so much when it's his own.

@GLITZandGLOOM
@GLITZandGLOOM 9 лет назад
Agreed. I mean, the guy ended the fucking STREAK. No matter who likes it or loathes it, bottom line is it happened. No Mulligans. Gotta build off it. Best way to keep Brock hot was by absolutely destroying Cena at SummerSlam. Should've done the same at Night of Champions, OR keep the finish they went with, but then have the blowoff match inside Hell in a Cell in October. So, by the Rumble, Brock's got a fresh opponent. A face Cesaro, a face Orton, Sheamus, Ziggler, someone NOT named John Cena. And they give Brock a fight, nut ultimately Brock wins heading into WrestleMania. And that's where he's supposedly gonna drop the title most likely to Roman Reigns. His last date on his current contract as far as we know, or unless he re-signs, is the night after 'Mania. I say, fuck it, sign him up for another year, keep the title on him and have him drop it at 'Mania 32 or even SummerSlam next year. WrestleMania still feels too soon for him to lose especially after ending the Streak and making Cena his bitch. Feels like a waste of the Streak if the dude who ended it is beaten the following year, and leaves the company.
