Sound System Upgrade | EP 1 2022 Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 Van Conversion

We have a lot to show in the first week of our Sprinter van Conversion. First, a Mercedes sound system upgrade was absolutely necessary. We completed the Espar heater install and added Scopema swivel seats.
We’re excited to see so much progress on our new Sprinter van build.
As you may remember from the last video, the sound system in the Mercedes van is really horrible. In Matt’s words, “worse than a 1960’s transistor radio.”
With the help from our friend, Joe, and our son, Austin that has now been remedied by replacing the speakers and adding an amplifier and subwoofer. Now we can jam 🎶!
The leaves are falling and there’s an Autumn chill in the air. So, join us as we scramble to get the new Espar diesel heater installed and add Scopema swivel seats.

I’ve lost about half my interest in watching the channel after you abandoned the Trail build. But I had so much interest that that still leaves a lot of interest! Switching to a Sprinter also eliminates much of the commonality in our journeys (we’re sticking it out with the Trail). Thank you for the great videos!

We understand your disappointment about us abandoning the Trail. We were so excited to build out a Transit because we thought others would like to see a Transit Trail build. Oooooooo a skylight?!!! That will be amazing! Looks like you're moving right along, and I absolutely loved all the fall colours!

Yes! We really wanted a skylight, but I'm not sure I've seen one installed on a short-body van. I think there's a reason for that. It's not over the bed as we hoped, but it does let in some nice light where it is. Hope you guys are enjoying the fall colors where you are. Glad you enjoyed the fall colors in the video. This is exciting! I love how you have figured everything out in order of what has to be done first. I was wondering if your van is already sprayed with anti rust? I'm getting mine done next week and I'm concerned about how they will or will not get the spray in the rear parts of the van since I put insulation in the walls right down to the bottom. I wish I had done it before the build. There are little holes at the bottom of the walls to allow water to escape which is normally where they would shoot the spray into. Suzane

I would use diesel instead of propane. How difficult was the dash disassembly and reassembly for the stereo?

We did you diesel. The Espar heater is a diesel heater. We recommend watching the Moonraker Designs video on disassembling the dash before taking it on. There are some tricky things to watch out for. @moonrakerdesign There's a link in our description to the full video.
