@@dsport I’m lost on what to do for my 18 civic Si. I want an exhaust but I want to be able to control the sound to some aspect. I like how the stock exhaust sounds when it’s just a chill day or night. I was thinking a dump valve. That map exhaust sounds so good though lol.
I’ve always loved Borla exhaust systems. Back in the day I had one for my 2003 g35 coupe sport and it was the best sounding exhaust in my town. But the greddy sounds good too
@@jamesmedina2062 i installed the hks exhaust and the 27 won cold air intake. I can feel a little more power but its not real noticeable, you need to get a good tune to really get the most out of the engine. But it definitley makes it more fun to drive with more exhaust and turbo sounds.
@@HI_grade hell yah bro. I built my Supersprint exhaust and it has 70mm center resonator and a small 9 inch oval can in the back. Sounds better and for my car it helps it breath over 3k rpm
Hey I was thinking the same thing but I got some one in my area selling one for about 800 you think that price is worth it ? I’m kinda on the fence if I wanna get it or not
Besides the greddy exhaust, what would you recommend for the quietest aftermarket exhaust? Had my eye on the remark exhaust, not too expensive, but still has fairly large piping and doesn't weight too much.
hi I have a 2017 civic touring with 1,5turbo I have dual muffler on each side do have some exhaust type I can have or I have to change the rear bumper and go to si type
#dsport @dsport What's your favorite ... ??? please be honest ... just can't believe how expensive these exhaust systems are crazy for a muffler and pipe... crazy some of these companies are asking over $1,000.
Another top list without the AWE exhaust? Dang it’s really under the radar. It’s by far one of the best sounding exhausts currently available which I think only the MAP exhaust and 27Won exhaust sound almost as good as it. On another note does this test car have an aftermarket BOV? That woosh is loud even revving at idle and I love it.
@@ShahHasArrived yes I have the Prl intake as well. But mine doesnt sound like that when revving at idle. I'm also tuned using hondata +9. Best I get is a very faint whoosh when revving at idle.
@@ShahHasArrived it's because the new civics use a recirculating valve. Installing a vent to atmosphere bov will cause issues with the fuel trim. I cant say how badly it will affect it though as people who have them havent noticed any issues so far.
I stepped out on a limb and threw together a custom pipe on my civic. I got 3'' pipe with a Vibrant Resonator to a magna flow Y pipe to 3.5 inch tips. It sounds better than some name brands for a fraction of the cost. SOUND VIDEO ON MY CHANNEL!
Hi. Im getting skunk2 rr megapower. Resonated and 2muffler double barrel. How much do u think its db? Is it gonna be louder if I installed catted dp? Appreciate your response. Thanks!
Thats true. I wish to see more magna flow videos and reviews. I think it sounds amazing. But since I haven't seen enough or rarely, I'm still looking around.
@@raymond5973 That's a personal preference. If you remove the mufflers in CA, that's technically illegal. So, if you get pulled over and the officer checks for mufflers, you'll get a ticket. So, that's a decision you'd have to make.
You’ll definitely pass smog with any muffler/exhaust system as long as you have the catalytic converter. With cops, that’s another issue. You can get a ticket for loud exhaust or even state reffed. Then you’d need to get to checked by a state ref place to make sure it’s all legal.
Can you guys tell me why #Injen wasn't included in this review? Asking for a friend. And I did just order that Injen exhaust. Will be delivered in a couple of weeks ☺️
what intake system does this civic have? I want to get an AWE exhaust setup with a nice intake system to hear the "whoosh" and spool up turbo aesthetics
Hold out on buying an exhaust for your sedan, the cost for the sound you get wont be worth it. Save the money for the next whip or pay that one down more.
In my opinion the "nice" sounds of these exhausts can be negated or affected in some way if the owner decides to install a catless dp. Then it can begin to sound really obnoxious or it gets really loud and droney. I don't even see why people spend so much money on a sound modification that doesn't yield any gains. But again, that's my opinion...
What do you mean? Are you the guy who works at PRL? The SI does have an ok exhaust but exhaust work will always net positive results. It is a bottleneck if it is kept stock. Thats obvious to most people.
@@jamesmedina2062 if you did your research you'd know a cat back exhaust does not yield much if anything on these platforms. The real gains are to be had by replacing the downpipe with a catted or catless one. I had an si and when I went with a catless dp paired with stock catback exhaust, the sound was obnoxious and raspy. I had to replace my stock resonator with one from vibrant and it mellowed out the sound quite a bit. The point I'm making is people should decide if they're gonna stay stock dp or go with an aftermarket one in the future when they decide to get an aftermarket cat back exhaust. Upgrading to a catless dp alone will change the sound of an exhaust that might have been mellow sounding when it was paired to a stock dp. Again it's my opinion, and what sounds nice can be subjective...
@@motorcitymanman7711 No. I just drive my car for more than 15 minute drive. Actually sound is just subjective and I like HKS slightly more but the Borla is ok on a second listen. Its all pretty difficult to gauge on my phone
Does it sound like it does in the video? I saw another vid and it has burbles and a couple pops but I don’t hear it in this vid, the other vid had a stock si
Thats ok. You can start with front pipe and exhaust and get a nice tone. The factory exhaust is terrible for flow and power. The exhaust helps it go better from 3,000-6,000 RPM on highway especially. Later you can always change the turbo when it needs it
Get race if you want a it louder and get street if you want it deeper. I personally went for street since i rather go for deep sounds than loudness also no drone if you get street
