one suggestion for when you glue exotic woods like rosewood, the surface you are glue of the rose wood clean it down good with acetone an couple times after rough it up slightly , you dont want a mirror glass smooth surface and you need to clean it to remove the heavy oils in the wood. additional note when cutting sanding or working with the exotic woos like rosewood ebony and other tropical woods or woods with high oil content wear a filter mask, i had a friend pass away from sinus / nasal cancer the the doctor say resulted from his prolonged work with exotic woods

Great work & good advice Adam! It's coming along nicely. I really think that the "voicing" of the soundboard is way over dramatized by most guitar makers. I don't know if you are aware of this but Taylor is now doing "V" bracing instead of the typical "X" bracing started by Martin way back when. Anyway, they are advertising that their V bracing is supposedly much better for sound quality of the top than X bracing is. Well, if you believe that hype good luck............. :)

How to cut the bridge at end ..I mean tapering or slicing at end of brace.. I mean how long should we do the taper .is there any measurements for this...👍

Is the top given a radius from the bracing? Like is radiusing the braces then the pressure from the go bar deck what gives the top a radius?

Yes, the bracing is sanded to a radius and once glued on the braces hold the top in a slight curve.

Hide glue is inferior to modern adhesives, hide glue is more difficult to work with, has a shorter working time, is susceptible to moisture and degrades over time. The adhesives available now are just better, the only real reason to use hide glue is if you're restoring an older instrument.

It occurred to me that instead of tapping the soundboard one should experiment with a music box' music-maker. Put the music-maker mechanism on the guitar soundboard and listen to the music. Then modify the soundboard, repeat, and see what difference you made to the sound with your modification. At the very least, you'd be able to apprehend the volume changes from your modifications. You might even be able to discern the different resonances that different bracing geometries would give you. I would think that you'd want the bracing on "nodes" of resonance of the frequencies you want to favor (think of Chladni plates for instance).

Spanish guitars skip most of the traditional nonsense of the american guitar, and replace it with their own set of traditional nonsense rules :) You can't argue with their resulting sound, just as you can't argue with the result of the american style. To each their own!
