How do we achieve this low resonance frequency? CUT!

He doesn't say a word about what to do to the top to tune it. He just shows what a properly tuned one supposedly does

Top cedar or spruce?❤

I had one guitar in my workshop which had been treated by Benno Streu, and after his death I saw some in the shop of Viertmann in Cologne. All of them had a belly behind the bridge and the top was sunk in between the bridge and the soundhole. (OK, some of them were very old...) Because he wanted to get the resonating frequency of the top lower he made it lighter and more flexible by shaving the braces smaller. In the Ramirez I had here there was less then a mm left between the bridge and the soundhole, so it became very weak. The owner cared a lot about enough humidity and used only very light strings and low action - so it survived and sounded nice. But I think the guitar would be better off without this treatment.

It is impossible for even the best microphones built in the whole world to discern the resonance qualities of the guitar. Yet I can clearly hear what Mr. Streu is demonstrating, by means of a RU-vid flv file, god knows what microphone was used, and I'm using a not too expensive headphone down here.

So, he's checking various regions of the guitar's top in response to different plucked notes. OK. Thing is, the guitar is ALREADY COMPLETED! Any method for "tuning" a guitar soundboard must include how to get it right at the various steps in building the guitar top, before you seal it up. Obvious.

The guitar sounds very good but there is a horrible buzzing every time he hits the open low D hard. Hopefully someone fixes that.
