You've referred a lot previously to upper , deep and mid bass. A lot of us beginners, including me, don't know how that should sound in real life. Is it at all possible that you could include a demo of the differences in one of your future videos?
Just started watching your videos and I must say you do some great in depth reviews! Haven't had much experience with multiple speakers, other than various soundcore iterations. But as far as the bass not being as deep and full at lower volumes. I find it helps sitting it Ontop of the recycling bin ha ha 😁
Hey Alan, great comparisons so far with the new Soundcore Motion Boom Plus! What in your experience would be the best party speaker with such reasonable size like the Motion Boom Plus? I'd like to have nicer, lower/deeper bass and as clear mids and highs as possible. I'd appreciate few suggestions or if there is one pick please tell me. Price is a second factor. PS I was looking at JBL Partybox 100 but that's already too big...
First. Found the soundcore boost eq on ur insta definitely helps open up the speaker a bit I quite like it ill follow ur Instagram for any updates on eq stuff
again alan? another great review!!! since you are the only channel i trust as millions of people do on speakers!!! ive noticed? u never did a test on the sony xg500!! its a different animal, loved and hated! several channels have reviewd. but? im sure you could find one in a pawnshop or behind a dumpster. lol!! i guess its a sony vs jbl boombox thing over here across the pond!! now they got the tidbit blaster drama!! that nobody can get right now. cheers!!!
The thing is ive only just started on the bigger speaker so will take some time to cover more of them. The Sony im not really interested in because of the negative feedback ive had from people i trust. Also the bigger speakers cost a lot more and i cant stretch my budget for my channel much more as I'm not even close to breaking even at this point 😭
@@alanrossreviews that's understandable Alan!! But as I finish off this 3rd bottle?? We love the way you imitate all the whiners in that British accent!! LMFAO!!!
The rave neo can play music over a USB thumb drive while the motion boom plus can't. Which also means if you make the rave neo the master speaker on party cast, all the other speakers can also play what comes off the USB drive.
Great job alan. I'm so happy I have my motion booms. I actually have four of them two for me and two for my son Austin. Got his around Christmas time on sale for 72.99 US dollars. Best $73 I ever spent on a speaker. Ray
I think both of these are examples of slight misses from Soundcore. Neither are outright bad and they offer excellent value as typical from Soundcore but neither are exceptional either (other than value for money). I think if Soundcore hadn't made the Motion Boom they would probably be more compelling offerings. 🤔 Thanks for another great comparison, Alan! 😁👍👏
I bought the boom plus last week for my job inside a machine shop and its just loud enough with all the machines running. I'm thinking about also getting the trance go and linking them together for extra bass. Have you tried that?
Hey Alan, great review. I've never heard either speaker but I think I might get the Boom and check that out. I must say I'm enjoying the Bose Flex quite a bit and honestly think it might be the best BT speaker Bose has ever made. What speaker do you listen to the most?
I listen to lots, depends on mood and scenario. The motion boom is something i always enjoy but like lots of them. The bose flex for sure, Maxsound plus, soundcore boost , motion plus, charge 5, audio pro c3, go+ play 2, onyx studio 6, minirigs in 2.2, even boombox 2 i can enjoy a listen. Sometimes i want to hear good seperation, sometimes i just want to get off my head and rock out. Even my dali katch 2 has a place for very low level listening. Im sure i left out a bunch like flare 2 oh and of course the stockwell 2 and more..... 🤪🤪
@@alanrossreviews I’ve never heard the minirigs but have always heard good things about them. Right now I have 2 Vifa Copenhagens, 1 Vifa Oslo, 1 Vifa Helsinki, 2 Harmon Kardon Onyx Studio 4, 2 JBL Extremes, 2 Bose Micro, 2 Denon DSB 250 and last but not least my newest speaker the Bose Flex. I forgot my Marshall Stockwell 11 😳🤣
id listen to the denon more if it wasnt battery depleted every time i pick it up 😂 yeah i know of the workaround but seems a hassle to me. the copenhagen id try if vifa wasnt so over priced imho. had the helsinki but while technically decent just never came live for me, the sound never breaking free of the box.
I agree about the Denon. The battery issue is a huge problem. I honestly think the Bose Flex is right there with the Denon and if you paired them it would sound so much better.
I have to wholeheartedly co-sign on your summation of the SoundLink Flex. That speaker slaps. I listen to all types of music. Everything from alt-country to zydeco 😂. Every genre I throw at it sounds superb. It’s not perfect though. I wish the SLF were a smidge more open and spacious. But that’s a small quibble when you consider the rich sounds it produces.
Hey Alan, I can't see my comment so adding a new one - Great review and comparisons so far with the Motion Boom Plus! Can you please suggest, what would be a noticeable upgrade for outdoor parties of 2x Motion Booms? I'm looking for deeper/lower bass with reasonable clarity in mids and highs. Better loudness would be also something great over a pair of Motion Booms. Is there something portable like the Booms on the market with option to pair? I wanted to go with 2x Boom Plus but now I wonder?
its hard to beat two booms. you are looking at much bigger speakers and into partybox territory. id say minirigs 2.2 but it wont go deeper but will sound more hifi but its a hassle setting up.
@@alanrossreviews Thanks! I will wait then for new sf updates for Boom Plus and perhaps a TWS comparison in the future, and stick for now with 2x Booms :) btw will you be reviewing the new Tribit StormBox Blast? Not so many tests so far, but it seems quite competitive in this price range for what it offers (better bass than Boom Plus it seems)…
Great video comparison like always my friend 👍👍👍,and also how does this new motion boom plus compare to the wking t9 80watt bluetooth and the wking x10. 70watt
ive yet to compare to those, sorry. so many requests. i would imagine it would crush the x10 but the t9 is a whole different type of sound and speaker.
Another awesome comparison Alan, I bet the two of these together via party cast would blow the roof off lol. I just saw they are already doing a offer on the boom plus (already lol) it's 145 pounds ATM. That's a much better price imo. Problem is the regular boom is 75 pounds at the moment too lol
Do you think a update can help the motion BOOM plus in the future as far as deep bass and less ear bleed in the firmware update next go around brother Ross?
I own the rave neo but the one I purchased for some reason has connections issues with my phone I have the 21+ but when I switch to a older iPhone device I have it works perfectly and sounds fine I don't understand because my 21+ works fine with other bt speakers
I have the Motion Boom Plus and am working on a custom indoor setting that actually sounds good. My unit is sounding rather odd on tracks like Mariah Carey -“ Fantasy” I’ve tried different genres but anything with a lot going on or lots of highs…it starts sounding a tad off… can’t quite establish what I am hearing… is it those tweeters?
Where you been? Yeah cheap nasty tweeters to my ears. 6khz peak the custom eq cant touch. Its a loud party speaker but i dont think its one for discerning ears 😭
@@alanrossreviews oh I have been buried in paperwork, will be for at least another 2 months 😫 Yes those tweeters sound really off. Do you think a firmware update will fix it? Just as you said the price with a voucher is now £45 off making it £144.99 on Amazon.
@@alanrossreviews im interested in the motion boom plus actually but i just want to go for the better sound so im drifting towards the stormb. are there any other options for outdoor portable speakers of the same dimensions that might be better than those two, pricier and all. appreciate the reply!
@@alanrossreviews Sorry, wrong information, I looked up, there is no firmware upgrade for the motion boom plus :( Maybe later lets hope the sound gets better.
@@alanrossreviews I sent mine back and feel bad cuz I wrote a pretty damn good review but that 80 percent volume or higher killed it no matter how id eq it!!!! Alan any chance you've gotten that Insmy speaker yet?
@@alanrossreviews Alan I'm sorry to keep bugging ya I promise I didn't mean to and man take all the time ya need I didn't know if you'd even review it or not I was just curious if you'd gotten it and if I'm totally braindead or tone deaf or both by thinkin it's good.... ahahahahaha!!!! Alan you do a phenomenal job and mself and every other person who's been following your channel appreciate your videos. To get your thorough input and thoughta on these products and graphs on how these speakers sound before we purchase is absolutely priceless... add in the great humor and your reviews are a win win. Hope ya get all the rest ya need!!!!!! Take care Alan!!!!
@@wadec6799 yeah i need a break generally 😫 but then so do most of us 😁 i know all my regulars so if you tell me a speaker is that good im gonna check it out. That price is everything though, i got it for 20 bucks!!!!!!! thats unreal! but now i see amazon have it at 60 bucks so a lot depends on that price. i will review it but not sure when, but yeah if i have something i think people should know about i make sure i do a video at some point. I have several speakers i tried and they just weren't worth the effort of making a video.
One of my rave neo speakers might have kicked the bucket...I went to update its firmware and for some reason when it went to restart the lights came on and the speaker started buzzing
@alanrossreviews I'm not exactly sure I bought that one second hand, but if i had to guess, I'd say she's probably between 1-3yrs old the other neo I got is working perfectly fine
@alanrossreviews I had to let that suckers battery run out before I could do anything to it, and after 2 days of buzzing, she finally ran out. I am currently charging the battery fingers crossed 🤞 for when I turn it on. Hopefully, it will play music again 🎶🎵🎸
@@alanrossreviews I mostly use Xtreme 3 at low volumes, I was also using Wildbox before but I don't anymore since it's update... I'm not liking it as much as I used to. 😭
@@alanrossreviews It's not, at least at low volume the bass is softer than previously... They fixed the bass+ button not working for iphone users and android users that didn't disabled absolute volume. But the new firmware have less bass at low volume compared to old firmware + absolute volume off. Turning off absolute volume on the new firmware doesn't seem to add the missing bass... And also the sound is too bright in my opinion past 50% of volume, which is also the point where the bass comes alive. Which means low volume is bass light and higher volume is too bright, making it unusable for me at all volumes sadly. I don't like this update at all... 😭
@@alanrossreviews Mifa told me they are working on an app, but they didn't specify if we would get EQ 😭 They just told me that it would make firmware updates easier 🤪
Hi. I have not compared the two speakers in south Korea. Anyway owing to your clip , i can make up my mind. Until today 9th Oct 2022, motion boom plus has not released yet. Even Anker Korea does not have their iwn showroom fro customers. Anyway, your xlip is super helpful Cheers!
at this point the reports are much more positive and it also has its own eq in the app but personally so far i have found their eq unusable. the sliders do not work on the bands they claim to be effecting.
@@alanrossreviews Hmm, that's not the best to hear. Either way, I think my Motion Boom Plus is giong back. I really don't need it, since I already have 2 Motion Booms, and I'll roll the dice on the Stormbox blast! LOL
Not sure how I missed this video. I really wish soundcore would come out with a large, deep bass speaker to compete with something like the JBL Partybox line and have it support their partycast 2 system. Dang, the Boom Plus does tear up a lot of speakers at 100% even if there isn't much deep bass.
@@alanrossreviews yes thats true! Although sometimes i just enjoy the small speakers more due to being impressive for their size and quite a nice Tuning, like the stockwell 2
@@alanrossreviews true! Sometimes i even listen to the stereo speakers from my s21 FE, with dolby atmos enabled, yes you get no bass, but its a very strange but nice open stereo sound with popping instruments due to the Atmos
Tested the partybox encore essential today, really mind blowing bass and overall sound, deeper bass than my 310, but the battery, oh man... 1 hour at maximum. I already read that it.was bad but this is really bad...
I think the first tune choice sums up the Rave Neo's performance in this battle = Thin! I just wouldn't want to listen to the Boom+ on high volume due to that 6k harshness
Alan when is soundcore gonna quit fn around amd send ya the rave party 2. Man I've gone now from jbl emcore essential to the rave party 2 then on Saturday night I got crazy at 10 35 pm and went and bought the boombox 3 at local Walmart for 379 came to 406 after taxes. Alan I already returned the emcore essential I bought for 249 it's now on sale for 209 at best buy but grabbed the boombox 3 with intention of this thing better blow me away or I'm returning it... fn a man I returned it next morning at 8 am. F that speaker for that price. I love my partybox 110 speakers but to me and the rave oarty 2 is 169 right now at best buy I feel the rave party 2 will smoke everything. Now does it have as deep a bass as bb3 or essential .. no it does not but it still thumps and to my ears with some tuning in their app it has beautiful mods and highs and it also doesn't need to be fn plugged in to get better sound. I wasn't fan of soundcore motion boom plus loved the blasts but rave party 2 to my ears is absolutely special. I.a email soundcore and tell them to ship ya one ASAP
Cant get the rave in uk yet i dont think. I have asked for the rave neo 2 on multiple occasions and i cant get one. I dont think they are going to send me any more speakers after the x600. I totally ignored their script guide and i have a feeling they aint happy. 😊
@Alan Ross Reviews that's bs on their part man I'd say tho ya just gained more respect from myself and others who follow your channel keep up great work alan
Where did he say that? This is the same Oluv that claims all reviewers are liars except him? That you dont need 5000 dollar headphones just £30 in ear phones with his eq that you must be a high end patreon to get? That says the helsinki is so good but he didn't listen to it himself cause its boring? That in his videos called the charge 3 a class leader then in comments said it was shit? The same oluv that tried to add all my ig followers to his own IG? Omg i am so hurt lol 😂
heres an idea, just a thought. i might start making high quality audio samples by placing the speaker on a resonant table with no decoupling in a reflective room with no acoustic treatment, what do you think? good idea? 💪🥳🍺
@@alanrossreviews yes good idea alan! Lets do that🤣🤣🤪, no but seriously, i was reading the comments on his last video, and someone suggested your eq setting for the m+, at that point he was mad.for.some reason
Ever tried subtractive EQ just got my motion boom plus today and it seems to tame it pretty well. Leaves some headroom and seems to stress the tweeters less.you just have to compensate the volume. -3 -4 -5 -5 -3 -4 -5 -3 -2
Yeah no doubt still a peaky mess but keeping all the values in the negatives seems to make it less intense, at least at lower volumes. Or at least by my ears.
