My favourite singer ever. My favourite band ever My favourite song ever. When this came out I bought the album. And here in the UK on MTV, there was a show back in the day. Headbangers ball. And presented by lady V. I actually wrote in, a actual letter in pen and ink. Obviously asking, no pleading no begging for them to play the video.. A few weeks later, I got my shout out and the beautiful lady V said "this is just for you".. Mind was blown. And Chris and Soundgarden became the soundtrack to my life. Chris Cornell is one of the best vocalists of all time. His range is incredibly vast and his songwriting has always been pretty deep. Soundgarden was his original band. Then later on the bandmembers from rage against the machine picked him up after Zach left and that’s how you get Audioslave. There was a lot of “super groups“ around that time. Velvet revolver is the singer from Stone Temple pilots but the band members of Guns N’ Roses. AlterBridge was Creed members with a new singer. Hell. Slipknot was a band that Corey and a few others from different bands put together to give their own bands more exposure (Stone Sour). And it just took off. It’s always interesting to see what people from different bands and different musical talent could put together
@joshuaha7661
@joshuaha7661 3 года назад
Corey Taylor didn't join Slipknot just to get himself/Stone Sour more exposure. He joined the band because he was a huge fan of them and believed in what they were doing. and everybody else in the band were original members so, Where the hell you get that from?

Chris and the guys from RATM wanted to do something after hanging out at Lala '94 or '95. However, timing wasn't right . After Zach left, it gave the RATM time to pick up those jam sessions they always wanted. Audioslave's first album was basically Sony(could be wrong) requests them to produce and release a record since they had been in a studio for months just jamming.
@sussychachi

Chris is a good amazing vocalist but I still think Mike Patton is way better he has more then 6 octave range and has made way more music then Chris Cornell and also has produced and made his own music and music for his other bands under his own record label. Chris and Mike we're good friends so am not trying to make mike sound like he's way better in a negative way but in my opinion I think mikes better for having more versatile singing styles, but Chris does have this soul power strong singing in his voice that I think mike can't even do.

@Brian taylor "Jeremy" and "Hunger Strike" were statement songs. Jeremy wasn't JUST about Jeremy Wade Dell. It was bringing attention to neglect, abuse and mental illness and "Hunger Strike" was about the abuse of wealth and privilege and NOT "feeding on the powerless"(in a nutshell). Grunge music was talking about the "real" shit/stuff that matters. GOLDEN RULE: if you don't have anything nice(or at least constructive) to say.... then don't say it. Spread love NOT hate..... This song and it's sentiment are pinpoint accurate for my every day life. Chris wrote it exactly right. There rarely is a reason but every day is a struggle and the fight is constant and it's immeasurable. It becomes part of you. You don't get over depression, it doesn't go away, you just get better at handling it and even then sometimes it knocks you off your feet and sits on your chest. This week has been like that for me. I feel heavy on the inside and I have struggled to make it through each day. You could say I'm down on my knees today, but in my head I know I'll get up on my feet again, it's just in my heart it didn't feel like it. It's tough dude. That aside, Chris Cornell is my vocal inspiration. I would do anything to sound like him, he was amazing. We all know though, that nobody songs like him anymore.

It was only two miles from my house so I jumped out the window with skateboard in hand, found a couple friends from school, and 3 of us jumped the fence to the beer garden in the back, then walked in with a group of guys we had talked to out front surrounding us so we weren’t seen. Soundgarden opened with “Spoonman”. Highly recommend.

I had moved to Phx to be near my parents as they aged. My sister and her 3 kiddos soon followed and our family was whole again after almost 20yrs states apart. Shortly after, about 3.5yrs ago, my dad had a massive stroke and nearly died. The ER doc said he had no chance and to make our plans. Its hard to find words to describe the wave of emotional devastation. We got lucky and our prayers were answered. He survived. He had full left side paralysis, though he was still mentally intact and could speak, though a little labored. He was moved to a recovery facility and showed no physical progress. After about a week, I got the call that my sister had suddenly died from what we later found out was an undiagnosed heart ❤ problem. Breaking that news to my father in that facility with my mom was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. My dad is still with us, though completely bed bound in a hospital bed in my parents living room with my 72yr old moms 24/7 care. These years have been my black day. Over and over like groundhog day. I feel lucky to have whats left of my family and I can fake a smile here and there but behind my mask, the devastation has never left or eased. I dont know how to change it. I really love your channel and reactions. Been watching you for over a year now and you always bring me a few moments of happiness and nostalgia. I really appreciate you. Thank you

Chris Cornell's death hit me hard, I cried. Such a loss, so much pain and suffering he endured for years. Listening back to all of his music, it was right in front of us,but we never saw it. LEGEND.

I have battled with depression for most of my life. Music is what has ultimately kept me going. When you have reached a point where nothing gives you joy and even breathing seems pointless you're world is grey. But music would allow the emotions to be released. Pain despair loneliness but also love, joy and hope for a better tomorrow. This song has helped me through some of my darkest days. Thanks for the reaction and the opportunity to to relate some of my struggle. Keep the great reactions coming.

Chris Cornell has a voice unlike any other. Personally my favorite of all time. His range is incredible and his ability to add so much aggression to it makes him stand out so much. And when you do start diving into more, I highly recommend finding any live versions because, like you said, he makes it look so effortless, and he somehow sounds better than the recordings. So many songs I could recommend from him: Soundgarden - Spoonman, Burden in my Hand, Rusty Cage, Let Me Drown Audioslave - Cochise, Show Me How to Live, Like a Stone, I Am the Highway, Doesn’t Remind Me, Be Yourself Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike, Say Hello 2 Heaven, Call Me a Dog, Reach Down

One of the most powerful lines ever in regards to the image of "Artists"..."Searchlight soul they say, but I can't see it in the night. I'm only faking, when I get it right." Artists are only human like the rest of us, and all that fame and pressure can't be good for someone with a strong sense of empathy...and there's no handbook to creating music, the band just takes their experiences and they push them through their respective instruments...

[O] = Orbit Culture Think Metallica + Gojira. The singer's clean vocals will remind you exactly of James Hetfield. The modern sound they bring to the metal scene is such a welcome change to the genre!
