Back in the 1980s, J.R. Church discovered that the psalms seem to have been encoded with allusions to modern events that happened in the specific year according to the number of the psalm. Going back through modern history, one can see that this is the case.
With that thought in mind, there are four places in the book of Psalms where trumpets are mentioned. Each of these psalms (47,81,98 and 150) point toward the trumpets of the end time. J.R. Church and Gary Stearman discussed the prophetic significance of those four years according to the psalm number in which they appeared. As the year 1998 approached, J.R. and Gary wondered and discussed what the prophetic significance of the trumpet mention in Psalm 98 would be for the year 1998 (this program was produced in 1997). We are taught that throughout scripture that all born again believers (the true church or body of Christ) await the sound of a heavenly trumpet that will catch us up into Heaven before the seven-year period of judgment strikes the earth known as the Tribulation period. This stunning event is known as the rapture. We know from scripture that the rapture will be initiated by the sound of a "trump":
"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed" (1 Corinthians 15:51-52).
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
Looking back on the latter part of the year 1997 and carrying on into the year 1998, something of dramatic prophetic significance did indeed occur that conspicuously points to the soon arrival of the event of the rapture and the onset of the Tribulation period. Could the rise of Donald "Trump" to the office of the Presidency of the United States have some prophetic significance to the world-wide spectacle of the Hale-Bopp comet of 1997-1998? Part of the intrigue and prophetic hint of this fantastic prophetic sign has to do with the timing of the arrival of the Hale-Bopp comet in relation to Donald Trump's rise to the presidency in the number of years between the two events. Although J.R. and Gary could not have known what the importance of this would be at the time as Donald Trump had not become president yet, looking back, one can see the dramatic importance of the trumpet mention in Psalm 98.
