A few video clips of the new CSX ST70AHs (SD70ACe-T4s) idling at the Agrock facility in Bowling Green, FL. Their prime mover is interesting because it sounds much different than the usual EMD SD70ACe prime mover and more like a GEVO. Thanks for watching, and if you like what you saw please be sure to like, comment, and subscribe!

Sounds very reminiscent of a GE because of the four stroke engine, which I don’t mind. For those who worry about the sounds of EMD “dying out” you shouldn’t. There’s plenty of EMD rebuilds on the rails that will be sticking around for years to come.

I hear hints of EMD and GE in this prime mover. But yes, it does sound more like a GE than an EMD compared to the previous generation EMD units.
