Nice video, thank you. Just a little thing: "light_omni" shouldn't be used anymore. "light_omni2" is the technical more advanced light now. Probably also performance-wise.
Yeah I checked out light_omni2, but I figured it would be simpler for a beginner to use just the “light_omni”, I’ll go over “light_omni2” when I do a more advanced lighting tutorial.
@@CSJxlp Thank you for your answer but I meant like how can I give players a specific weapon at the beginning of the round? like knife only or like spawning specific weapons in some places so players can pick them up. For example, when a player enters a place, a desert eagle will spawn on the ground. (Yes, i can use server command to give weapons to players but I want them to be spawned on the ground) I am sure you know the map called "aim_redline". Maybe like on that map, How can I spawn weapons on the ground? There is some videos for older version of hammer on youtube but it is different on the new one. I really appreciate all the videos you have shared so far. I hope you will make more videos about Source 2 in the near future. I am trying to learn hammer completely. Your videos helps a lot. I hope there will be more to come. (English is not my first language so I apologize for any mistakes ❤)
hello, whenever i place a light and test it ingame, it doesnt affect the player (might also say it's not real-time). do you know how can i fix this? you earned another sub by the way, thanks!
@@CSJxlp yeah, that was exactly my problem. But i found the solution right after i wrote my comment. Thanks for the time you took to read and reply though :)
Can you help, please? WARNING! No lightmap resolution volumes set for this geometry! Whilst we still can process lightmaps for this map, texel resolution of the lightmap will be sub-optimal. Please add a mesh enclosing the player navigable space with toolslightmapres.vmat applied to it. Don't understand what hammer doesn't like...
Hi, I ran into a problem that everything is different in my Style tab and I can't make the light bulb blink the same way as yours at 2:12 , please help. They seem to have reworked it a bit
I checked the "sky" section of the light environment entity and changed the "Sky Color" to a blue, I assume this is what you meant by your response. It's still black. When I'm in the editor and select "3d Indirect Only" in my camera to preview the lighting it is pitch black. I just want some indirect lighting lollll@@CSJxlp
It's weird cuz when I select direct light only it DOES show shadows that have some color in them but when i go to load the map the shadows are suddenly pitch black@@CSJxlp
I've had the same problem i think, Basically when I'm testing the map out, the shadows make things like weapon models and smoke grenades completely black, but the map itself looks fine. It seems to only be shadoes cast onto objects that are pitch black... any idea why?@@CSJxlp
