I think they didnt removed ticks, there are now subticks. From what i understand (I can be wrong) they now register your exact input time. The game runs still on ticks but if two ppl shoot at the same tick, the server has now additional subtick time on which it evaluates who shot first

This is exactly what it is. Based on the initial feedback from pros that already played it seems like servers are 64 tick, just with those input timestamps to decide what actually happens when multiple conflicting activities occur in the same tick.

Exactly, the server will take any information from the client performing those actions listed right away, rather than waiting for a tick to take the information sent from the client.

@@houstonbred3930 and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, that's a circumstance of the players financial situation and out of Valve's control. Either way I'm sure it's not a negative for lower end PC's to have cleaner network code.

They did not remove tickrate. The game still updates every 1/64th or 1/128th of a second. It's just that your inputs get queued up with a time stamp. Which means they can figure out the exact milisecond you've clicked your mouse button, pressed your space, hit the left key to strafe etc.

@@Si1verThief ah fairs, I think csgo desperately needs to work on its anti cheat system as its fallen really behind. There are cheats from a year ago that still work according to some people I’ve spoken too.

@@shahabshahid4260 Yeah I suspect a large part of the reason why is that they keep trying to prevent the code that runs the cheats from working rather than just detecting and banning the actual behaviors in real time I mean ffs If Minecraft servers could detect Aimbot 8 years ago then how can cs still not detect a fucking spin bot bhoping across the map lmao

can confirm that jumpbugs still work 👍 also i fully agree with what you’re saying about the air strafing, it almost makes bhopping feel more strafe dependent thus making it feel a little more like css bhopping (which i really, really like)

Unpopular opinion here but i like the dull look the M9 Vanilla has in CSGO, in CS2 it looks like any other military shooter knife with no wear and tear, almost plastic-looking. I'll probably sell my M9 Vanilla when CS2 releases in the summer :/

It actually does add a bit of height to your jump The point is that a bhop moves you up lower than a regular jump, but if you jump bug you still get the height of a regular jump while being able to maintain the speed boost from a bhop

The sever likely still updates with 64 ticks, however, they just send additional data about when you shot in the packets.

There is a pixel you can get stuck on at t spawn with a boost im guessing when they ported dust 2 they smoothed out most walls to remove them but their are still some remaining

I’m pretty sure they didn’t remove tickrate, they just send more information to the server about when something happened so that things register better, like shots, jumps, grenades etc.

Jumpbug still works, but I find it way harder to hit it. Anyway, I love CS2 already. I've got some hours playing it on my account. And I can't wait to play it with all my friends.

Thanks Skripe, this will probably divide alot of players, considering we who have played 128 tick for 20k hours and the feeling is amazing compared to 64 tick, i just hope they would do something similiar as before on faceit, esea etc, have a much more reliant movement as on 128tick, its much more random on 64 tick and the feeling ones you get used to it on 128 is amazing. Wallbugging is not that important, more annoying to get stuck on straight walls, that i understand. But changing the movement as it now feels like jumping in sand, i do however upon hearing from the devs that they might implement the update to mimick the 128 tick, i do hope that is true. Unless that i think alot of movement players from 128 might stop play as it will be wasted time spent learning the mechanics, its now more "bot friendly movement" as in valorant, the subtick makes it easier and alot of players who are new will find it much easier. Wall pixel bugs are annoying, cuz if you hugged any wall while jumping you might start falling slower. Some jumpspot locations (car on banana on inferno, ct on mirage) if you jumpspot quite frequently you might end up getting stuck on a wall, which might get you killed. Its sad to let pixel boosts go but at least im not gonna stop in movement while hugging a wall which was really annoying.

The sub tick system is still a tick based game loop. But it has checks in place that update faster than the tickrate. These checks tell the game how long between ticks the action took place. Idk the tickrate but for now im assuming its still 64 tick we can assume the sub ticks are 192 tick So 3 sub ticks per tick to find the precise time you made an input. These numbers are just to explain it. They may not be accurate.

Bopping on 64 tick is what I got used to from playing on valve servers, so I can't land shit on 128 tick, I wonder how well I'll be able to hop on the new sub tick rate, or if my movement learning curve is dead

Tick rate and Subtick rate are not new technologies, Valve's official servers have a 64 Tick rate and CSGO game runs at a 64 Subtick rate. There may be an error in the announcement and the implemented technology could be something else, such as motion interpolation or something similar. Tick rate and Subtick rate are technologies that work together, with Tick rate on the server and Subtick rate in the game running on the user's PC. Tick rate and Subtick rate need to work at the same frequency, which means 64 Tick rate and 64 Subtick rate. If Tick rate is higher, there will be a decrease in precision by the player compared to the server, and if Subtick rate is higher, the game becomes unstable and events occur with delays. The higher the Tick rate and Subtick rate, the greater the impact on the game's performance (even if it is small, there is still an impact). Subtick rate can be affected by the performance of the hardware running the game, which means that if the game runs poorly, Subtick rate will send information less frequently. Just so everyone know. The old tickrate system is still available. Servers can enable it with a command. Edit: the command is sv_enable_tickless_move and the default is `true` servers can set that to `false` to enable legacy tickrate system

Do airstrafes work better because they're smoother due to the higher tick rate? Instead of turning a slight corner 64x or 128x a second, you turn perfectly smooth...?

For the strafing bit it seems they might have changed the air_accelerate you can check with console. However the higher the tick rate the more speed you gain in your strafes

my guess is its still 64 tick but with the subtick updates its harder to jumpbug because the crouch cancel part of the jumpbug (which negates fall damage and makes it silent) requires you to uncrouch at a much more precise amount of units above the ground where in source 1 it was during any of the ticks while you were in that range

Bro I'm not home and I havn't checked my CSGO yet so if I'm getting access to the beta I would be TRUELY suprised since it's been about a year or two since I last played and I barely have 300 hours on the game, I am an OG tho Stopped because of skins prices sold everything 😢 I miss my m9 knife Only returning to it because source 2 feels right and OH BOI I'm gonna have some serious bank issues let's just hope source 2 will makes skins and knifes cheaper😅
