Sourdough Discard Cinnamon Bread
1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 cup of white granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2, teaspoon of ground nutmeg
1 cup sourdough, discard
1/4 cup of milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup of butter - melted
1 large egg
For the glaze
1/4 cup of powdered sugar
1 to 2 tsp of milk
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9" x 5" loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients.
3. In a smaller bowl, combine the wet ingredients.
4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix together until just moistened.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
6. Bake for 50 - 55 minutes.
7 Cool for 10 - 15 minutes, then turn out onto a cooling rack until completely cool.
When it's cool, prepare the glaze by adding very small amounts of milk to the powdered sugar mixing to a glaze consistency. Drizzle over the loaf.
