I made these tonight for our dinner! Oh my goodness! They were so fluffy and delicious! I used Grains in Small Places all purpose flour blend with fresh milled flour! Thank you for sharing your recipe!
If these are baked ahead, what is the best way to reheat them for serving? Your puppy is ADORABLE! Oh, I love this!! Would it work to freeze these at the point you have made them into discs? I’m having hand surgery soon and will need others to pitch in and help so I’m trying to have as much of thanksgiving “made ahead” as possible.
Hi Amy ~ I have followed you from the very “beginning”, but I usually do NOT post or message. But, as I began perusing your videos/recipes once again, suddenly, I selected one! You were accompanied by an extraordinary “GUEST” - making a debut appearance! Hence, my reason WHY I couldn’t resist commenting, after noticing a certain sweet, adorable, “furry” head - inquisitively, peak some more - revealing a sweet, little nose, and baby brown eyes…with the your Hoodie hiding the rest!! *NOTE: Might need to “acquire” his/her own Hoodie! In fact…”Better yet”…offer “MERCH” with that ANGELIC face, would endure it sell like “hot cakes”!!!💥 Perhaps, it’s just ME, but you in the kitchen with an inquisitively, adoreable puppy tucked inside your pocket - is EXACTLY what my DAD “attempts” to get away with… And quite frankly, he does, a near 💯% success rate…meaning…either my mom is getting “warn down”…or…Lyschia’s irresistible puppy “cuteness” and “unconditional” loving nature are wearing her down! Surprise… Surprise - Guess who buys her tasty, high quality TREATS, and a NEW puppy bed, along with a handful of warm, “ Fashionable” blankets, to match! But, what really gave away the “ACCEPTANCE” of our new puppy, was when we discovered my mom puchasings hair bows/ribbons for Lyschia…I caught her “RED HANDED” - LOL!🙃 Oh my, all this to simply say…THANK YOU …for brightening our days! And I truly HOPE, we get future encores of your new FURBABY…and…perhaps a video or 2 dedicated to “Healthy TREATS “ and another on “Homemade Meals” - from scratch - as so many darling animals have allergies and health issues, as was the case with one of my darlings PUPS! There was little I could humanely offer…but…Homemade Organic Food was one of them. Call me crazy…but…there is little we won’t do for our family members - including our furry ones! I was extremely blessed and fortunate to find a woman in NOVA SCOTIA with an RU-vid channel. She is also a fabulous GARDENER, and really dove DEEPLY into the science and medical information/journals available, as a “Starting Point” from which she slowly introduced…Homemade, Organic recipes with ingredients that mainly came from her garden, so she was aware of what was going into the food being grown, and therefore, what was being eaten by her darling Poodle! Eventually, she developed a vast array of recipes for dogs with allergies, medical illnesses and symptoms/complaints, such as arthritis and other debilitating diseases, thus providing a better quality of life for our BELOVED furry children! All of the recipes she shared and even more later, once her RU-vid show began to take off…can be cooked, as though you had a LARGE Human family! Cooking food, as you AMY, and others here - know - COOKING or PRE/Partially cooking food helps with PRE-DIGESTION… Which is extremely helpful and beneficial when patients have difficulties eating RAW foods! This eased and often helped ease the reactions/problems/illnesses, including certain individuals in society (as with my Shih Tzus), the elderly, other animals, even less suspecting individuals like Autistic patients, Epileptics, and more than we ever realized and are continually understanding and desperate to solve this problem! I sense the urgency, a bit more than most, as I have Crohn’s disease and Lupus, so it wasn’t difficult or inconvenient to me to make extra meals ahead of time…in “batches”…then froze then for convenience! Or, as often was the case with her and her husband I found this method worked best for us, Who like to eat healthy, but have time constraints and busy lives, and this system worked out perfectly for us and helped our sweet little Shih-Tzu, And all our animals after her, to live quality of lives, that incorporated, healthy meals, treats, lots of exercise, and travelled with us for large, extended family vacation trips across Canadan 30+ times from coast to coast…(From the most EASTERN part of NORTH AMERICA and the furthest, eastern province of Newfoundland and Labrador is the island of Newfoundland. It takes ~2 weeks driving, resting only 8 hours at night and fir meals…”Sightseeing is not included if you want to ENJOY the many wonders, and beautiful adventures, tours, wildlife, gorgeous mountains, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, and far too much to list here…but…my point is that 7,151 Kilometres/4,443 miles from St. John’s Newfoundland to Beautiful Victoria, British Columbia Means a lot of “Puppy Pee Breaks”, and “endless” TREATS - LOL! But, It was all worth the inconvenience and long days of travel when we got to spend extraordinary moments with our extended human and “furry family”, as many as no longer here with us! And speaking of trips - we packed up all family members for another extended family adventure, but received so much more- including recipes like Homemade BANNOCK on an open fire - absolutely DELICIOUS - and hope you get an opportunity to try it sometime! This trip was even longer and a remarkable one for numerous reasons! We started close to Mount Logan and did our best to “portage” impassable areas, but the Canadian Indigenous canoe did well traveling the rivers method of travel up into the Arctic, where we stayed with family and friends in the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and NUNAVUT - and NO - we don’t live in igloos, use dogs for transportation, and the/labdvis NOT frozen or covered in Snow and Ice 365 days of the year!🥶). …as well as, the US and UK where we have family currently living 🐾🇨🇦🐾🇺🇸🐾 Smoked Salmon, Char, varieties of northern berries (bakeapples make divine tarts and jams/jellies), exotic duck and geese eggs, iceberg water - nothing like it - but tepee best tasting water comes from a newly “calved” iceberg, seal, whale, and polar bear meat, but modern generations rather not hunt, but plat video games and eat a western foods. Fortunately, great oral history, and now written and artistic history are being preserved! **Please FORGIVE me of this last portion… But… If you ever wish to experience Our North, or as others call it…the ARCTIC! Like most Canucks are those interested in our Beloved North and the extraordinarily JOYFUL, and accepting Indigenous peoples who care for, protect and inhabit our SOVEREIGN land.
