The first reactor I’ve ever seen who referred to us as “British colonists” which is absolutely correct. Until the colonists win the revolutionary war, they aren’t Americans but are British colonists, then in 1776 they become Americans. Even tho they were acting like Americans for decades at least before that they officially became American in 1776. Now in 2024 we’re still Americans & the majority of us are doing everything in our power to keep us going full strength

Ignore the rude one... i too was giving deep sighs at the explaining as an american. But also was patient because i am not so arrogant to think that only americans watch any given channel. I wasnt going to comment until i saw the obnoxious one below. I, for one, enjoy watching non americans react to and learn about my country. I dont care if there are 1000 others. Each one, teach one is the way i see it. Especially because so many crap on my country due to misunderstanding, misinformation, or propaganda. Keep doing what you're doing. Thanks for bothering to take time to react.

Now you just have to watch Oversimplified on the American Civil War. On a side note I served in the U.S. Army Infantry (front line combat troops) and I fought in Iraq from 2004-2005. These kids today are something else, and their very soft and fragile. None of them want to join the military because they might break a nail or they will have to change their hair style. If they allowed me to go back in the Army at 45 years of age I would go back in the Army tomorrow. It was some of the best times of my life in the Army, granted there was some bad (Iraq) and scary (war) times too.

As a member of the 'older generation' whose father and uncles served in WWII, it is my observation that the education system has failed the 'younger generation'. I also believe that US History and Government/Civics should be taught every year from 8th grade until graduation from high school.

I'm loving your channel. You know more about our history than many Americans. BTW, in your opinion ...do you see the early war tactical similarities with the South African War ( Anglo-Boer War 1899) ?

Definitely agree that the younger generations of Americans are far less patriotic and appreciative of what our country is. Frankly, I think they should be required to live elsewhere for at least a year to understand the difference so that they have some perspective and can make more informed opinions.

15:43 we should bring this back. Find the best person for the job, that doesn't want the job, and have the presidential campaign be the nation convincing them they are the best for the job.

the Dutch didn't create the American flag, they tried to replicate it according to what had been described to them by Franklin.

The founding fathers knowing that no one could know what lies in the future... built a system of government that was meant to be adaptable to the times. Unfortunately... as with any system... those that hold the power rarely willingly give it up.

Wrong. It's NOT "adaptable". THAT is the problem. It should be followed today AS IT WAS WRITTEN.................WITHOUT today's "sensibilities" and all the BS. that is the problem.

There were colonists who had been born in America for generations. For example, George Washington's father and grandfather had been born in Virginia. His great-grandfather came from England. They were considered British for having been born in a British colony. The Continent of America covers almost the entire Western Hemisphere called the "New World". Name was derived from an Italian navigator and discoverer named Amerigo Vespucci who believed that the lands discovered by Columbus were part of a separate Continent.

As a child, I was taught that the British were the bad guys. Wasn't true however. Had Colonial ancestors before the Revolution, and a few British ancestors came over after that. Love all of you now. Even if you drive on the wrong side of the road ;-)

i mean, it's pretty "bad guy" behavior to dictate how people live without giving them a vote. hence the war and all.

Well...actually we didn't have the term limit on the presidency until Franklin D Roosevelt served four terms. After that they limited the terms to two. Concerning the state of the US now, there are a lot of us terrified that we may be looking at the end of democracy unless we really get out the vote to prevent the wanna be dictator from getting into office. It is a dark time for the US. We have weathered other threats over the two centuries though and hope we weather this one. The world is watching.

Remember, the little animation was cute and "giggle-able", but "tar and feathered" meant having boiling black tar poured on a naked man then covered in feathers.....beyond painful if not fatal. Most of the Colonists....wer born in Britain, all were British Citizens and most of the founding fathers including Washington were born in England. It was not a revolution...it was a Civil War. History always portrays it as Americans versus British...NO! They act like Americans already lived here with slaves, killing Indians and the British showed up and said...We want to run this place.......NO! WE WERE THE BRITISH PEOPLE THROWING OUT THE KING!
@ryan_lloyd
@ryan_lloyd 4 месяца назад
Definitely right. More of a civil war than a war between two seperate entities.

George Washington was not born in England. He was a third-generation Virginian. Most although not all of the Founding Fathers were born in America. And British people (living in America) throwing out the king (government) is what most people would define as a revolution. It's true that it could also be a civil war, and would have likely been called that had the British won. But they didn't.

@@vizzy9302you are correct about George, India and China had revolutions against Britain...none of them were citizens and to the best of my knowledge revolutions usually don't involve "treason" due to that citizen thing, right? Civil wars are between citizens of the same nation, geographic location at the time of the Great scrimmages"kick off" doesn't really matter. Americans fighting Americans about issues in America fought anywhere in the world is a Civil War.....what's wrong with you man, haven't you ever seen Marvel Movies! ;))

Honestly, we really do not need the long winded explanations. We know our history. Besides, we have all seen these videos reviewed by many other RU-vid contributors. It would be great if someone would reactcto something new and interesting. All of you do the same videos. It appears you just run down a list of reaction videos that had good numbers and react to them. Be original!! I mat subscribe again if you can start doing stuff that hasn't been reacted to by a dozen other RU-vidrs.
