Nicole Sutton from the Columbus Metropolitan Library shares photos of Roberta Jones-Booth, a dedicated South Side activist. From 1970 to 1980, Jones-Booth led the community in a significant battle against the Georgia-Pacific plant, which had numerous hazardous material failures impacting the Columbus Southend for years. Her relentless efforts resulted in a $22 million settlement awarded to the affected community members.
Ohio Snapshots In Time digs into Ohio history one image at a time. The series is produced by WOSU Public Media in partnership with the staff of the @ColumbusLibrary.
