Preparation is ongoing in normally dry areas that could be overwhelmed by flooding and mudslides even though Hurricane Hilary is expected to weaken to a tropical storm. #SouthernCalifornia #HurricaneHilary #Flooding #Mudslides #GMA
Keep that same energy when the real storm hits. It always starts light then the worst part is upon you. I know. I live in Florida and I've been through too many of them. Trust me. It's going to get worse.
Yeah! this rain is a joke! not bad at all! why is the media exaggerating about it?! but its the first time I sweat in the rain because of the heat:( its strange!
The warnings are there for your safety. This will at least give you time to prepare. And if you made the efforts to prepare i hope it rewards you with continued life and less damage to your property. AND if the predictions were wrong, fabulous! Be thankful nothing happened.
I’m in Santa Clarita and it’s been pouring here since 8am nonstop. Never seen anything quite like this with no letup. A constant downpour. Luckily very little wind!
We just had a winter filled with nonstop rain. Not usually in the summer, I'll give you that, but if CA would use our exorbitant amount of taxes we pay to improve our infrastructure we'd be better off. Also, if the high fire foliage was thinned out we'd have less fires and less flooding.
@@SandyOhNo I completely agree. It’s disgraceful California didn’t take advantage during the drought to repair and build new infrastructure for water storage. Santa Clarita does a great job of keeping storm drains clean, but so many areas in LA/valley area really flooding from lack of maintenance. Mismanagement and corruption galore.
I lived in Naples Florida when Hurricane Andrew hit. We sat through it, it was quite violent. Now living here in San Bernardino, California right in Hilary's path. I'm prepared, with 2 weeks worth of food, water, supplies (essentials) medications, enough food 🍲 for my cat 🐈🐾.
SMART. I MANAGED TO SURVIVE HURRICANE CHARLIE 2004 , DAYTONA BEACH FL. JUST BEFORE KATRINA. I LOST EVERYTHING BUT MY LIFE WHICH WAS A MIRACLE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR STORY. 💙💙💙💙👊🖐✌️
@UnCut, it’s good you prepare & stocked up. I don’t know how long you’ve lived in CA. You should already know that Hurricanes do Not exist in CA. I also live in San Bernardino county (High Desert 🌵). No serve storms happened down here.
@@sopascat7 I was born and raised in Glendale California, grew up in Green valley, lived on a ranch right next to the San Andreas fault line. Went to Quartz Hill high school. Been through many earthquakes, lived on the Santa Monica beach 🏖️ every summer. Yes California is not known for hurricanes.
@UnCut, I was born on Los Angeles, raised in the CA high desert, moved away & lived in South Pasadena for 20 yrs (Fair Oaks Ave was one of my cross streets). Moved back to the high desert several months ago.
Seriously... First it's bitching about no rain... Then it's bitching about two much rain... Now it's acting crazy about a thunderstorm, but the "Big One" could come at any moment and take everything but that's only if you avoid the wildfires or being stabbed by the fentanyl junkie living in the tent on the sidewalk in front of your home.
Damn I hope everything goes swiftly with no death, injury, or property damage ..it’s sad to see people making fun of the situation knowing they have no idea of what potential threats actually do exists when it comes to this rare oddity of a storm. I’m from Texas so yea i obviously kno how minimal a tropical storm effects our state but that doesn’t make me ignorant to the fact that this storm In particular could be disastrous due to the area of which it’s going over. You really have to understand the reality of the situation, like the fact that Californias infrastructure especially in the poor area are simply not made for this type of weather ,there are valleys, deserts, and and other land scapes that will be filled With water creating landslides or mudslides that could Possibly close roads and even destroy houses, cars etc. you have to realize that yea to us down south it’s practically another walk in the park when it comes to weather like this ..but to them it’s not when given the fact that calfornia amd the other states effected haven’t had a storm this severe In over 80 years ,so think twice before you try and judge the eastern side of USA for being extra prepared because I know I would
There is no big storm - barely any rain/ no wind. A nice respite from the summer heat. How embarrassing for all you leftists - hoping for destruction. Hawaii was a fire - and their leftist government officials would not release the use of the water reserves for Hours and a hours after the fire was blazing. They had to decide wud it’s was equitable to use water reserves to save the buildings owned by the higher income people. Liberals are simply the stupid class here in America. It has created inclusion at least - now everyone on the island of Maui are homeless!
NOT HUMIDITY.....ITS WHEN SEA Waters become warm, heat without the humidity which does not occur in the Pacific Waters. This is unnatural and has never occurred in or around the Pacific, Mexico, Southern California. Research on Google. Get your FACTS STRAIGHT AND INFORMATIVE. GET EDUCATED PLEEEZZZZZE AND THANKS....
Y'all gon get it. Every state that isn't used to it, that gets hit by storms like big tropical depressions/hurricanes usually gets devastated. Hopefully y'all take it gracefully, like us down here in louisiana. I was proud of my community during hurricane Ida.
listen to the storm's wind real carefully ,you will hear Hillary laughing her ass off at trump for being the only criminal in the usa to have 91 criminal charges from 4 indictments in 4 states all at the same time .
It already happens with all the homeless RVs/campers that drain their waste into the gutters. From Long Beach to at least Huntington have been extra contaminated all Summer.
Being from Jersey means you know nothing about Hurricanes. They are unpredictable and potentially dangerous. Come live in Florida a few years then you, MIGHT, MAYBE, know something about Hurricanes???
Stay safe and be careful everyone! Get to safety now if you think it will flood bad, it’s not something to not be taken lightly it look what happened to Louisiana with Katrina trust me nobody wants to see you hurt. Thank you to all the first responders
I know of many farmers taking their tracters out to till, or turn over the flat compacted soil in areas that might normally experience bad run-off conditions after intense rain events. Breaking up enough of an area of that sort of soil, even to just a few inches down aids with at least some amount of absorption, sometimes just enough to stop dangerous run-off that leads to flash-flooding and can prevent significant loss of topsoil as well. Australian farmers swear by this method and I know of several land-management studies held in both Australian and American universities that have concluded good helpful effects of this method. Don't drive thru any level of running or still water. Here in Australia we say... "If it's flooded. Forget it..." Turn around and find another way. Cars can be swept away in some very small looking amounts of water across a road. Its not worth it. Stay safe all of you in Mexico, California, Nevada. From us, here in Australia 🌏🌍🌎
It’s not a catastrophe nor life threatening everywhere or all at once. If people want accurate info use the weather app on your phone and check hourly rain and wind totals. They change.
Southern California, in the mountains in one year receives around 33 in of rain, on the coast it's about 10 in of rain, if they receive 3 years of rain that is like 8 ft of rain in the mountains and three feet of rain on the coast
Riverside and Imperial Counties ( finally some rain in Imperial County and Riverside County is looking at what Aculpulco got yesterday yesterday of 110 mph winds and about 16 inches of rain.
Well I live in the direct path of it and my weather predicts 20 mph winds and little rain over Night. We get stronger winds from Santa Ana's than what's predicted for this thing.
@@mortalclown3812 as long as a mud hill doesnt move into your area it will help more than a bunch of sandbags. then you have to dig the sandbags out too.
@blabberwulf7650 If sandbags weren't helpful, I doubt that they would be handing them out every time a major storm came through. I'm guessing that you don't live in an area that gets lots of hurricanes.
Hawaii: suffers a hurricane and wildfire at the same time - doesn't even turn on the siren. California: Sees dark clouds coming - declares an emergency.
BEEN THERE. IN SAN DIEGO AND THE REAL DEAL HURRICANE CHARLIE 2004. TORNADOES IN THE 80'S, CHEYENNE, WY, HAIL, RAIN, SNOW STORMS. IM SURPRISED IM STILL ALIVE. SERIOUSLY. TRUTH..... THERE IS ALWAYS BRIGHT BLUE SKIES, AND WITHIN MINUTES, OR HOURS IT BECOMES PITCH BLACK!!!! RAIN, HAIL, ELECTRICITY GOES OUT, NO RUNNING WATER...... HOPE YOU'RE PREPARED. STORMS SNEAK UP ON YOU NOT ALWAYS WITH WARNINGS. PLEASE BE SAFE. BLESS YA'LL. IM IN COLORADO MY HOME STATE. JUST AN FYI.
Did you laugh at KATRINA.... I'M in California and I was screaming RUN! GET THE HELL OUTTA THERE...I'd never seen a hurricane as big as Katrina....not funny
At 10 am, Tucson-hundreds of miles across the desert from the storm-started to experience significant wind gusts. Even though we sorely need rain, I doubt we'll receive much of it, and I'd be shocked if the huge dead tree down the street was still there by tomorrow. Hopefully, this is all for naught. But it does sound foreboding.
People don’t play like you’re tough. If told to evacuate, than evacuate. If you are in a vulnerable place don’t wait to be told to leave, get your fur babies & leave now. DO NOT leave your fur babies behind.
More like hurricane Hil-ar-ious, it’s such a non-factor here in SoCal. 😂 Our inept and corrupt government is so concerned about addressing the homeless epidemic that they’ve helped out once in 80 plus years...now!
Well, you all love Hillary so much, You get her in full. Jokes aside. I am a Florida man. I know what you are going through. Stay safe. Not sure how those dry conditions will handle that water flow. If you think you need to get out... GET OUT. Do not trust Neusome to do anything but protect himself.

How is it "amazingly crazy"? Weather has always been weather and always will, the only difference now is YT and media creating a frenzy when it's undeserved. This has happened in CA before...(and this storm isn't even much), and the hurricanes on the East Coast have been less and less for ten years. As well, the "heat wave" and "record high temps" are easily found to be lies as well. Nature happens. And for further reference...in 1900 a hurricane hit Galveston, TX.---to this day the largest hurricane to make landfall.
@@dannmarceau They say that, yes but I'm in Baja California, Mexico and all is well here. Same rain as always. So I'll repeat: Much Ado About Nothing. Happy Sunday!

I suppose when there actually WAS a hurricane 84 yrs ago, it was global warming too right? Oh, and the fires you have all the time there...... Maybe if all the tree hugging activists would let the state do controlled burns of all the dry brush and fire prone areas, like they used to, this stuff wouldn't happen as often? But no, we'll just push our stupidity for climate change, plant based food, and green energy....🙄 Yea....whatever

The strong wind gusts started at 10 am in Tucson (hundreds of miles across the desert from the storm). We probably won’t get much rain (though we desperately need it) but I’d be surprised if the giant dead tree down the street was still standing tomorrow. Hopefully this is much ado about nothing…. But it sure sounds ominous
One thing is for sure the El Nino has caused this kinda of unpredictable weather pattern. The heat dome over the southern states is bad. New Orleans usually gets alot of rain but it hasn't rained. Things are starting to dry out and the Mississippi river is the lowest in years. I pray for y'all in California. Don't freak out but please be prepared with water, batteries, food, first aide kit, etc. Make sure your devices are fully charged. The storm hasn't reached y'all yet. So it might be calm or you might experience light rain. You will no more as the day goes on. Hurricanes are unpredictable and can cause down power lines, down trees, and flooding. Praying it doesn't get that bad. They can be beasts . Don't be fooled by the eye wall. Much prayers , peace and love from New Orleans. Also make sure y'all are grouping together. Safety in numbers
