Bruh it's a fanfare. You have no idea how great these guys are on. Don't judge these guys until you actually take the time to listen to what JSU music program actually produces.
@@lizbethp.4182 You gotta find what fits you. There's mad open feeling mouthpieces and there's mad resistant mouthpieces and everything in between. If you play trumpet or use a trumpet mp, I'm gone sound crazy but look into Harrelson Trumpets' 5MM setup
Lizbeth P. Hey I play horn and Mello with braces! I use whatever crappy horn mouthpiece came with my mellophone but I couldn’t imagine playing without my braces guards. It’s a little plastic tube thing that goes over my braces and I can actually play... Some people don’t seem to have an issue with it but I did so thought it might be helpful
1st of..... Shoutout the Mellos... The most Love and Hated instrument. Both sound good as Fuck. And on playing Mellos everywhere. We have always been the Best. Who has the best Mellos.? Uummmm I Can't tell from the clip. Str8 up.
Vincent Bach 5B it will take time to develop range but the round tone and phatness is what comes with a deep cup. You don't need a megatone just get u a VB 5B I'm telling u....long tones lip slurs 6 inches while playing and sock in the bell will develop everything
I loved my time playing with an HBCU but I HATED how mellos were so intent on sounding like trumpets, and how the rest of the band wanted them to sound like trumpets. The mellophone/marching french horn has it's own unique sonic sound. Check it... most HBCU players don't even use french horn mouth pieces
god somebody I agree with for once. It seems like the only way they are able to sound decent is by blasting cause when they are soft they sound like garbage.
They both did great!! I’m from Ms and I love me some Jackson State, but SU just different man I’m sorry.. I just feel like they have more control when they play. I LOVE da BOOM💨 tho
All these people in the comments have no idea what HBCU are supposed to sound like. Their approach to marching music is different! More focused on power and sound beastly
