Tired of these News Stations and reports NOT mentioning WHO the heck these companies/ contractors are! I'm pretty convinced that you guys are getting some compensation from businesses here in Las Vegas!!!! You guys ACT like you're on our side, BUT, you don't mention who these corrupt companies are, therefore, continuing to have us even do business, spend our hard-earned money, and be robbed with them. Absolutely shameful.
An “investigation” like this with no “results” sounds like a puff piece for NVEnergy. I do know that SolUp is in bed with a lot of these news/public persons trying to trash other companies while doing some shameful work themselves.
I used to work for a solar company in the maintenance department and constantly was dealing with customers who were told one thing by the sale's guy and their contract says something completely different. I cannot iterate enough, if you don't see a printed contract that you can read and go through line by line and ask questions about then you shouldn't be moving forward with the project. I got solar panels and I absolutely love my solar panels, but I did not get them from the company I worked for. I think the most important thing to remembor is if they are rushing to get you to sign a contract and get their guys out there super fast, you should question all of that. I'm not saying things can't move quickly, but there's moving quickly and there is trying to rush you so you don't realize the mistake you're making.

@@johnknightiii1351 Technically.Yes, you can record them, but in order for it to be admissible. In court they have to be aware they're being recorded and agree to being recorded. However, if they're not willing to be recorded, that's kind of a red flag in and of first question would be, why don't you want to be recorded if you're on the up-and-up?You shouldn't be afraid of being recorded. I've worked so many retail and customer service and sales. Jobs in my life and customers get all upset about things and go. I'm recording you because I want to I don't know but I never have a problem with that because I'm gonna tell you what is true and correct to the best of my ability now. Have I ever told someone something wrong? Of course, I have. But realistically, I do my best to do the research. And if I'm not sure on an answer.I say I'm gonna need to get back to you on this after I do some research because I don't want to give you the wrong information. But beyond that record away.
Hire an electrical contractor that also does solar....and not just a "solar company" and if you have to finance the system, then it may not be worth it as you probably won't get your return on investment
THIS IS WHY I PUT A "NO SOLICITORS" SIGN ON MY FRONT DOOR... AND ALSO MY LAWN! I NEVER TRUST ANYONE WHOSE MAIN GOAL IS TO MAKE A BUCK INSTEAD OF PROVIDING A SERVICE TO THE AMERICAN PPL..... THE BIGGEST CULPRIT OF WHICH IS THE GOVERNMENT THAT SUPPOSEDLY REPRESENTS US...
Go look into solar technology, it is the same technology we were using in the 1960s to make panels, the efficiency improvements are very small now and don't matter for the average homeowner unless you don't have enough roof space to fit what you need up there with current technology.
I had a femaile ride up on a skateboard with a tablet saying she "NEEDED to to speak with the home owner", she was pushy! i asked "what the name of the home owner was" she didnt know. I asked if " she knew what addres she was at" she didnt know. then i went into a long loud rant to her about the diferences between a want and a need and explained that she WANTED to speat to the home owne but DIDNT NEED to and that she should remove herself from the property as quickle as she could skate her ass off of it and made a point to turn to my right to make sure she knew i had a pow pow on my hip!
Hey, snowflake...quit whining! You ain't never had a pushy salesperson in 'Vegas before? GEEZ...if even the hookers on the strip avoid hasslin' you, it must be something about YOU...
Not being able to size your system larger than your current max usage is an issue. Many people are more energy efficient when they have a large power bill. If we could get enough solar to offset a few degrees cooler in their house or the EV they want to get if they could power it off solar by upsizing, more people would get solar
That is an option, you have to submit an extra form to NV energy and get them to approve it but you can say that you are going to get an EV and a hot tub or whatever and that can be added into your usage.
@@johnknightiii1351 I am currently offsetting a customer using around 7500 kwh/yr with a system that produces 10250 kwh/yr or so because he is planning on getting an electric car. It can be done.
Who pays someone thousands to install solar😂 ? Just do it yourself. Don't connect to the grid instead wire down to specific devices that you use alot ,stove TV, light, refrigerator...
Solar is beneficial as long as you have a reputable company and salesman. A lot of sales people aren't honest and do what is in their best interest and not the homeowners best interest unfortunately.
@conradaster3764 the law has changed, as of the first of this year any solar salesman has to be a W2 employee of the actual installation company. No more of these contractors out here just slinging deals with no accountability in vegas.
