See note.) ▢½ teaspoon salt ▢1½ cups unsalted butter (room temperature) (3 sticks) ▢3 cups granulated cane sugar ▢5 large eggs, room temperature ▢¾ cup whole milk, room temperature ▢1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract ▢¼ teaspoon pure lemon extract ▢¼ teaspoon pure coconut extract (optional but yum)

I made this today and WOW it was incredibly good! I made it in order to make some strawberry shortcakes for my after dinner desserts. But honestly, the pound cake is amazing by itself! When the cake was almost done and the batter was slightly loose on top, I added some course sugar on the top and it made and amazing, sweet, cracker topping for the cake. It literally flaked off the top. I usually use store brand butter but I've been using Land o' Lakes butter whenever I bake (which is hardly) lately and I think that's one of the reasons why it turned out so good! Thanks for sharing this recipe and I look forward to trying some more!
This is an excellent cake. I fixed it for my family and they loved it. I copied the printable recipe everything was great including tips, the notes. My future in-laws couldn't stop talking about how good it was right down to the crispy crunch shell. It came out exactly they way she instructed. It was moist on the inside and shell had just the right crunch as she predicted. Yes I did give you credit for your recipe. Can you say AWSOME! Thank you !

I made this for Christmas and it came out perfectly. I used a bit less sugar, I added some lemon zest, almond extract and the vanilla. I used sour cream in place of the milk, added a powdered sugar finish. Thank You ❤️😀.
That Pound cake looks delicious it reminds me of a cake my aunt used to make. It is called powdered sugar pound cake. The title comes from the fact that a pound of of powdered sugar is substituted for regular sugar as an ingredient. She used vanilla and more lemon flavoring than you used. It was also made with cake flour. Diva you have got to make it. It was always a family favorite.
I should have watched your video first. I made this yesterday, I noticed I didn't add enough milk or vanilla, and I hand mixed all the ingredients, but it was still good. I can't wait to try it again and add more milk and buy another hand mixer too. 😁

I’m laying in a hospital bed at home, for the last year and half, and I was thinking: “This would sure cheer my soul up, with perhaps a light lemon glaze drizzled delicately over the finish cake, like an abstract, modern art flower. Of course, I’d have my espresso to accompany it with! I only hope I can put my, “pity me face”, on, so my daughter might consider making this for us here at home. God bless you all.

I have one question....can anyone tell me the best way to use a silicone bread mold? Should I spray it first?
Thanks for the tip, now I know why my pound cake always separate. I've been mixing too much. Creaming the butter and sugar always gets me. I'm always confused as to how long to mix it.
