Southern Raised Performs a cappella "I'll Have A New Life" at The Mansion at Fontanel 

Just discovered Southern Gospel. We don’t get much of this in England, but I’m blown away by the harmonies. Simply amazing

Great singers. Another beautiful son written by Luther G. Presley, also wrote,” When the Saints go marching In.”

This hymn was by far my absolute FAVORITE when we sang it in church when I was a young teenager (age 64 now). Not only does it extol doctrine from scripture (1 Corinthians 15:42-45), the opportunity for harmony with the different vocal ranges is outstanding! I don't know of any other hymn that offers this. My hat's off to Luther Presley for this wonderful song!

I've listened to a couple of vids from S.R. this evening and I noted 95-96 "👎" . I guess I just don't understand. I'm no authority, but I know Good Accepela & harmony when I hear it! And these young people are Great. And that's a great old Gospel tune.

It's beautiful, but I would have loved to hear it with Mathew's mic turned up to match his sisters, Through most of the song I can't hear his voice. I think he should have been actually holding a mic to his mouth. Otherwise, it's very enjoyable. Awesome voices.

At first, I thought the audience was dead or mannequins; as no one was toe tapping or hand clapping. Startled me when they suddenly became animated and clapping at the end. Yes, I know; they were being quiet for the recording. But Jesus saved my wretched soul; and when I hear these gospel songs; well, they’d just have to ask me to leave before I could sit there as though I were already dead.

1st Corinthians 15:42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

I like this much better than all those versions that have a piano slamming an accompaniment, churning much of the harmony into mush. Pianos have their place, but a capella rocks much better on some songs. This is one of them.
