Easy, simple, delicious, refreshing, on a hot summer day or just a refreshing drink. You can make it as sweet or unsweet as you like. So simple, there is not a recipe. Follow my directions to how I make my sweet tea.
I use the following:
3 family size tea bags
3/4 cup granulated sugar
water to boil and fill gallon size tea jug
Add water, tea bags, and sugar to a boiler. Bring to a boil and turn off heat. Let steep 6-10 minutes. Pour into jug of cold water. Enjoy over ice or as is.
Enjoy!

My Mama’s sweet tea? For a gallon: Boiled 10 little teabags ( the family size weren’t available then). Then pour over 2 cups of sugar. Stirred to dissolve sugar. Then add the rest of the water. Let it cool. Poured over ice in a glass. My sister, our friend and I went to Buffalo, New York and Niagara Falls. The hotel we stayed at couldn’t understand what we meant when we asked for sweet tea. My friend went into the kitchen and taught them. They added sweet tea to the menu. This was 2001. Thank You for your recipe. I don’t use sugar anymore but it sure is good with it. Makes my mouth water.

I love love love sweet tea. I'm from the South. My best friend growing up was from Alabama. Tea is excellent for us - boosts chemotherapy performance and bunch of other stuff. I guzzle it daily but no sugar ever. I drink tea with key lime juice. 😘

Sweet tea was the way of life for my family, even after we had to move to Michigan when I was a little girl. In the summertime, our friends and neighbors would come to sit on our front porch and have a glass of sweet tea. Thank you so much for the memory.

Huge thank-you for sharing this recipe for iced sweet tea. I wondered how to make the sugar dissolve completely. My husband loves sweet tea and I have been buying it instead of making it from scratch. I will give this a shot!!

I always put my sugar in when I boil and steep my tea bags. No longer worry with granules that won't melt or having to make a simple syrup which only waters it down. 😋❤️

I use loose leaf tea and put it in my coffee filter basket. I run a pot of water through my coffee pot just like I was making coffee. I fill my tea pitcher almost to the top with ice and I put one pack of Splenda on top of the ice. Then I pour my brewed tea over the ice and stir. Pour over ice and enjoy.❤❤❤

Karen, you probably have shown or talked about your nugget ice cube maker, but I missed it. I love good ice and because our ice maker that is in our freezer doesn’t work anymore, I have been buying bagged ice. Could you please let me know where you purchased your ice maker or the brand of it. I always love your videos and have tried many of your recipes. Thank you for sharing!

@@KarenJonesFoodFamily There are a number of flavors ranging from $3 to $10 per box of 18 or 20 tea bags. Have tried Cinnamon Apple, Bengal Splce, Lemon Zinger, Tangerine Zinger, Berry Zinger. Their ginger saved my butt during Covid. Be careful with certain medications, bc these are herbal seasoning, not tea leaves.

Hi Karen. Could you boil water in the electric hot water pot you showed us the other day and just let the tea bags steep in it, or must the tea bags boil with the water in a pan to make it taste right?

I have about 4 cups of water in the boiler. That much in jug, but I add more after I pour in the steeped tea.

so there is a total of12 cups of water in the jug when said done? at the end u said when pouring last in there 3 to 4 cups now when washing the tea bags again.
