You might think that making videos in the heat isn't a good idea, and you'd be right! It sucks! But oh well here I am making stuff anyway. On the positives though there is, um. Oh yeah the exporting of this video went unusually well. So there is that. :D
Fun Fact: Playing Ethiopia without the BBA DLC is very unpleasant because the "state development" mecanic is still active and there is no way to remove the modifier. This doesnt have anything to do with the video, but i realy want paradox to fix it.
to start out, the AI often does agree IF you control all of a country's cores, its very rare for it to agree if you don't. second, and i hate they have made Ethiopia this way with out telling you in the focus itself, there is essentially two kinds of peace focuses, the ones where you white peace back to starting borders (Soviet Mediation, Declare for Italy, International Mediation) and the kind where you claim the land you hold (Italian Offer of Peace, Faith Accompli, Peace Negotiations). I think Ethiopia is an excellent example of a country in HOI4 with really good ideas, bogged down by too long focuses, random checks here and there stopping you and lots of rng that the game kinda just expects you to learn and deal with.
It's so weird how paradox decides which countries get "realistic" paths and which get the wackier ones. The idea of Ethiopia not only surviving against a major European power but also defeating them and pushing them into the sea is already outlandish in of itself, so they should've just given us an OP path as a reward and continue the playthrough. Especially since the AI is never actually able to survive even on ahistorica and this would only be availbe to players.
@@Shua756 Ethiopian tree is literally the one that I hate most in the game. First of all half of those debuffs dont make any sense. Ethiopia gets fleet debuff when they start with none? Why doesnt every land locked nation have it? They get debuff on literally every single thing. Why debuff industry if they have 3 factories already? Then african union, the only interesting formable require dozen of thousands political power? I could say a lot more but I forgot a lot of stuff cuz the last time I played it was year ago and I will never try it again.
In short it's totally unrewarding and is waste of time after war with Italy which can get cores on whole africa a looooooooooot easier. Baltics are example how to make a small nation fun, although this dlc is mainly about Italy and Ethiopia so it should be on level of Poland or Italy.
"i think ai sees the focus im doing". You too. When someone is completing focus that threats you, you get "bla bla is justifying against you" tooltip even tho they qint justifying
@@BubblesZest idk, i dont remember what focus that were and what nation i were playing, hovewer i got a notification.. oh right i was playing soviets and it gives notification on anti-comintern pact. Hovewer anti comintern is only a defensive pact.
I don't like how hoi4 players call all unhistorical borders bordergore. I get that that is only a part of Sudan but it isn't that bad. Historical borders are just as cursed if not more.
great video, i would love that more focus in game gave research tech, in some countries post BBA and NSB not starting with a single tech of planes or tanks is ridiculous.
One of the other highlights of the path is the extra equipment capture ratio. The combined effect from the soviet designer, national spirit, general trait and maintenance companies results in an absurd amount of captured supplies. I was even able to field 2 20W medium tank divisions exclusively with captured panzers.
@@scezich6126 having a small limited war for Djibouti would be a lot more fun if you didn't have the entirety of the allied powers coming after you when you do
One of the main reasons why I stopped playing HOI4 is because of this tedious RNG system. Basically your entire Playthrough is decited by luck and thats no fun.
