Season 1: Genghis Kahn First episode was good, but it still needed to figure out what it was doing. Season 2: Tsar era First half was incredible, but the finale was underwhelming. Season 3: The Soviet Union First episode was great, and the Patriotic War arc in the middle was the best part of the series, the finale was really sad, but the music video they released for the DVD was great. Season 4: Russian Federation Tbh, kinda an underwhelming reboot, left most people missing season 3 and had a bunch of weird and unnecessary crossover episodes. Season 5: Putin Still not as good as season 3, but they brought back the old intro and there have been some really good episodes like the Syrian one that just came out.
@@chriseder5006 Yeah, the Afghanistan and German unification arcs were pretty terrible, but they managed to keep the show interesting with Gorbachev's character development.

Pretty much, yeah. Notice how the video starts with the sun setting. Also, notice how it shows the pop singers all leaving the room and turning off the lights when they're done.
Yeah, I like the video it was not insulting, it showed the positive side of the USSR and yet it tells the person whaching it that they will never see such unity ever again, only in dreams.
I play this at least 5 times a day, and if I had a TV channel I would play this every morning to start the broadcasting and at night, to finish the broadcasting of the day
Sometime ago (todays date 12 March 2016) there was a "get together" of the musicians that performed the remix anthem. Really enjoyed their work and wanted to see the more modern musicians Thankyou Eric H USA
Si. For me is weird too, i have 28 years old, with any relation with the URSS or Russia . In fact i am a italo-german descendant living in Buenos Aires. Even though i feel nostalgic
The West: Those deprived commies will never know what it's like to experience amazing artists like Bob Geldof and Cyndi Lauper. Soviet Union: Hold my vodka.
@@afuzzycreature8387 if synth and rock music could only be used by the west that would be a really depressing world for everyone else, those are like the two best music genres

Rest in Peace Soviet Union - your fall sadly led to the wars between Russians, Ukrainians, Chechen, Abkhazians, Georgians, Armenians, Azerbaijani, Uzbek, Tajiks etc etc.......
They all used to be brothers and such good friends, now everyone's confused and angry, I just want everyone to be happy together again, maybe not all under one roof, but good neighbors with love in their hearts.
@@essexclass8168 Yea.... you're clearly a person who has never studied Russian History, but at the same time developed a senseless hatred of Russian People
This video is funny to watch but also makes me feel sad at the same time. I feel like these people are having one last hurray before the Party is over.
@@reggiekrager5411 That might have been true back in 1992. Today there are reports of nostalgia for the USSR in Russia. For the Russians... they lost a good chunk of their Nation as well as their "Super Power" status. NATO had promised Gorbachev that they would not expand "one inch eastward" and that was a lie. Now NATO occupies a good part of the former Warsaw Pact (East European) Countries as well as former Soviet Republics... all with weapons pointed at Russia. At this point there can not be a return of the USSR (not while NATO occupies and control those areas). However Putin is working at making Russia into a Super Power again.
I actually like this a lot and play it like a thousand times Everyone sings great, especially those two girls at 1:20. Does someone know who they are??
+ElendilAndAragorn life was definitely more stable and guaranteed and homelessness and hunger were at an all time low although Gorbachev killed the ussr even though there was a referendum and it was voted for it to remain he still killed it so rip in vodka
Can anyone actually name all or most of the singers who sang in this video? I am sure that they are very popular in Russia and are all well respected in their own right. Thanks!
Marius Alvin Liljuson But .... The USSR is not a country, but a union of republics. And in 1991 the republic withdrew from the union and now there is only Russia left. And I do not agree. The USSR is the most terrible alliance. They harmed all the republics and for this the countries withdrew from the union.
Not only 720 will help but this was the 80s and if this was Takelung in Moskva (Moscow) the radiation levels where still high due to Chernobyl in Ukraine in 1986
@@jeremykiahsobyk102 Yeah, it must have been good for Americans. But the Russians lost everything they have achieved with so much suffering in ww2, they lost their centuries old empire. And what they did they get in the end ? Only nato expansion and Yeltsin’s “magical” 1990s.
The ussr in the late 80s: *on the verge of collapse* The central committee: yk guys, I think what would really fix the union is a neat remix of the anthem! The people: ... Central committee: hit it, Igor! Not even a joke thats literally how it went down
I get strange looks from people when I play this, but I love it, though judging by the comments below, not for the same reasons as others who come to this video. Everything in it, the instruments, the styles of singing, the clothing, the tempo, it’s all WESTERN. This song is not a mourning for the Soviet Union, it’s an encapsulation of the freedom and broken chains of communist enslavement that swept across Eastern Europe at this time. We Americans won the Cold War, but thanks to Presidents Reagan and Bush and General Secretary Gorbachev, so did Russia and Eastern Europe.
