SOVIET SECRET SPACE TRUCK ZIL Blue Bird/ 

Fun fact: the "Bluebird" vehicles are still in use today and are always present at Soyuz landing sites. Go watch any recent video of the landing and recovery of a Soyuz spacecraft and you'll see them. The blue paint really does make them stand out from the terrain. The nitrogen tank is used to flush any remaining propellant from the RCS. Unused RCS fuel is normally dumped during parachute descent but residue can remain in the system after landing. Touching the fuel or breathing the vapour is really not good for humans. Normally the "Bluebirds" operate as a fleet (or should that be 'flock'?) of four vehicles - two ZIL-49061 all-terrain ambulances for the crew and two ZIL-4906 cargo carriers for the capsule plus transportation of recovery equipment. If it proves necessary to go searching for the capsule more vehicles can be sent. If it appears the capsule landed where there is deep snow or in a swamp, ZIL-4906 can carry a ZIL-29061 which can get to places inaccessible to even a "Bluebird". Why are these vehicles still used? Roscosmos has become really good at landing Soyuz spacecraft in the Kazakh steppe but accidents can still happen. A capsule may have to land during bad weather when helicopters cannot fly. It could come down in a swamp, lake, or forest where helicopters cannot land.
