Sovngarde - Defeating Alduin - Skyrim ( Ultra High Quality Settings ) 

theres a special place in hell for people entering sovngarde in deadric armor...

I had more trouble from draugr dread lords than alduin. He sucked for a final boss.

How did not the surface of sovngarde break by the weight of his balls entering it with daedric armor?

So nobody gonna mention that the sky looks like the skills tree?

Easily one of my favorite parts of the main story questline. Sovngarde is beautiful!

I used to go out hunting and killing dragons such as Alduin, Til' I took an arrow to the knee...

I spent an hour hiding in a little crack in the wall hiding from a frost and elder dragon that were ganging up on me near the portal

Truth be told, Alduin really isn't that difficult an adversary. A Dragonrend spell here and a few swings from Volendrung there and he went down. How disappointing.

I didn't use clear the skies on my way to the Hall and Alduin scared the shit out of me. You won't see him until he's right in front of you

I'm the only one who noticed that the statues look at you

I always try max out my character then do the storyline. It's more fun that way when you have perks, good armour and weapons

They could have made a much better ending, maybe all of the dragons fighting each other in a civil war/dominance for power or siding with paarthanox, in the skies above whiterun, or solitude whilst the city burns. Then finally you fight Alduin who annihilates the city and knocks all the other dragons out of the sky with a shout. And he's actually HARD. Bethesda should let me write their endings.

The first try-outs I failed. Arrows seemed not to affect against Alduin. When trying close-combat with dragonbane I got grilled. And anyway each time so much raining flaming meteorites to my neck. Thanks for the hint how to use Dragonrend Shout. With a longer key press, the effect was stronger to keep Alduin longer on the ground ( and there were less, or even no, raining meteorites too). The second good hint was to aim to dragon head from distaince if using ranged combat, and noticed that Ice Spike spell seemed to work well for that. When Alduin was going to raise up, I had time for only a short key tap with Dragonrend Shout, but it was enough and soon he landed again and got another serie of Ice Spikes from me. A good example of how to choose the strategy. - a hard fight turned into an easy one.

One thing I don't like is that at the end of the quest only one or to souls make it out of the mist. This means most we're eaten by alduin before you killed him.

I did this at level 10 or 11 because I did only the main quest and then do all the side quests. But now I’m playing again but taking my time. ITS A GREAT GAME! Buuutttt Alduin isn’t the best boss

He was so weak,not the fight that I was hoping for.

i never got no one to talk too just alduin flying around endlessly and no dragonrend working

I think his souls was taken by Akatosh himself as it went up into that "vortex"

I killed him in one hit using the mehrunes razor lol it was so beast

Idk, but I think the "marked for death" shout works pretty well for me no matter who I'm fighting. Same for Alduin.

I honestly though u said to go ahead so I opt crossing the bridge and dying from lightning then I saw this video and realised I had to fight him

I'm lvl 31 with a full set of steel plate armor with like 200 armor rating. How do u beat Tsun? I'm an idiot.

Look on google for some ebony mines and for daedra hearts there's a high elf selling them in the winterhold college, there's also one in Jorvaskkr in Whiterun on a table right next to Kodlak Whitemane, there's also a quest called Azura's Star which will yield a couple of hearts, just make sure you save once you'll be teleported inside the star.

After i finished it wouldnt let me return to skyrim

And then he says “you never should have come here”

What I did was get him on the ground with dragonrend and then shoot him with a bow while hiding behind a rock and using dragonrend everygime I could. So. I took almost No damage.

I was around level 75 I think so yeah Alduin wasn't much of a challenge... as far as the daedric gear I crafted it or got it through the altar in "The Midden" at the college of Winterhold... as far as I can remember anyway... there are plenty of videos out there explaining how to get it, google is your friend.

I was fighting through what was to be my last Skyrim playthrough and I just decided to sell my console and my game stuff for reading and studying instead, I’m sad that I had to give up games to better my life. Skyrim was definitely the best game ever

Alduin was so easy to defeat and I don't even have good weapons.

After many years I'm now level 588. I never started any main quest. For some reason dragons started to spawn and I started to absorb souls. We haven't even kill first dragon outside whiterun. I noticed that Steam manipulating my game files. Is there way to save game without steam having access to my save files?

alduin is OP. you even had to cheat death just to kill him

I can't experience this as this quest is glitched. Alduin dies, but its still telling me to defeat him. Also he isn't "exploding" fully. I'm looking at a floating black liquid now.

I hope to go to sovngarde when my count of days are over.

How do I get him to stop midair? He just doesn't do that, so Dragonrending is damn near impossible.

Well to start off I was level 70+ when i finished this quest so I was pretty much maxed out in terms of armor and perks, level up some more and perk up, hope you'll make it, good luck

The game should have been worked on for a bit longer, the game keeps glitching and dragonrend doesn’t work so Alduin just keeps flying around, and I can’t kill him.

I get all through getting rid of the mist and Alduin does NOT come out?????? What might I be doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am getting very frustrated and have loaded the save at the hall of valor several times!

Yeah you'll have to join to get access to the midden, you can upgrade smithing fast by crafting iron daggers, fast and cheap... just explore the world, do quests and you'll rank up... as far as ice form or any other shouts/spells I don't lag because I have a PC not a console, I can run skyrim smoothly with everything maxed out.

Can someone help me, I’m fucking using dragon rend, but this motherfucking worm won’t land. I’ve actually managed to get his health all the way down which took about 20 minutes, I’m not even fucking kidding you. And then when his health bar doesn’t even exist anymore, HE FUCKING JUST KEEPS FLYING AROUND AND WONT DIE OR LAND OR ANYTHING I need help
