Sowing Five Varieties of Gomphrena | First Seeds for My 2022 Garden

Hello! My name is Bethany and I grow things in my rooftop container garden in Chicago. In this video, I'm finally starting my first seeds for my 2022 garden and I am so excited!
Here are the seeds I started:
Gomphrena QIS Carmine
Gomphrena QIS Pink
Gomphrena QIS Purple
Gomphrena QIS Orange
Gomphrena Strawberry Fields
I know there are only four varieties in the thumbnail but I couldn’t get a layout with the five images that I liked 😂

I wanted to give a quick update on the gomphrena seeds! Seeds sprouted in all the cells within 3-4 days, much faster than last year when I didn’t soak the seeds. I will be soaking all gomphrena seeds from now on!

I got some strawberry fields gomphrena last year but I sowed them in a milk jug the middle of April and got good germination, I don't have alot of room inside, where I sow tomatoes and peppers

I had 7/12 of my gomphrena seedlings come up, but I think I sowed double in each cell so the germination wasn’t very good either. I will try soaking next time, thanks for the tip

I recorded this a few days ago and I had gomphrena seedlings come up in all cells but two within 3 days! I’m definitely soaking them from now on.

After watching many of your videos, I just started Gomphrenas from seed. I was wondering if you fertilize them during the growing season, and if so how many times. Thank you.

I do! I plant with a slow release fertilizer and then do a liquid fertilizer about every 2-3 weeks.
