First of all I LOVE LOVE your channel. I'm totally on board about taking your time and using one's raw power to accomplish a garden task. My garden not only feeds me year-round but it's also my therapy from my hight pressure day job. Oh yeah, you should consider wearing gloves and possible eye projection to fully enhance the safety extras mentioned ... gonna try the sock thing myself.

I'm really loving seeing the evolution of the new garden. I also like to take things slowly outside. I kind of feel like you do a more thorough and thoughtful job, plus it's just more relaxing.

My daffodils are already putting out buds. Not blooming yet but up. I’ve also got some lovely kale that’s overwintered really well. I’m going to put them out in the sun to get some good growth. Once the likelihood of frost has mostly faded.

Was surprised to hear that your video was filmed last year in March. I should have realized with all the daffodils blooming that it would not be this year. Good luck with your new home and garden. Looks Awesome! I enjoy your videos and all the good information.

If you use your lopers you can cut the smaller branches off the larger ones. Then stack those up. They’ll take less space and be a good shelter for little birds and critters over the summer as they break down. Then you can stack the logs together. After a bit you could throw everything on a pile and put sod over the top, grass down. It’ll break down and give you great soil. You can also use the logs to create a simple garden bed. Like not an actual raised bed with added soil, but a border for space where you’re growing something. Like around the daffodils or something. It’s rustic looking, uses what you already have, and will eventually break down into soil. 😊

I like your raised bed garden design. I think loppers come in pretty handy to efficiently chop up those branches. I like to make stick mulch out of the smaller branches. I keep the sticks 6-12 inches long. It makes a unique mulch that lasts a long time.

Ah, I love how soothing all of your videos are! It's fun watching you create this new garden from the beginning. I can already imagine some of those larger forked branches you removed as new trellises for beans, etc. You are Mr. Creative! It will be so exciting to watch as you transform the space into an amazingly beautiful garden!! I was wondering, is poison ivy very prevalent there in MD? It is SO bad in my area (northeastern PA) that I cannot do any weeding without gloves, for fear of getting the itcy rash I have experienced a few too many times already! Ticks are also terrible here, and given that we have had such a mild winter (thus far), I fear it will be a very bad tick season and will have to watch my dog very carefully. Slow and steady, as you say, and your garden will flourish! :) Have a beautiful week, Siloé!

Best to lop off smaller branches/twigs first too before cutting a big branch, it could save you a nasty whipping in the eye! Although in your case I can see how you want to keep some of those shapes to build things with later.

Make sure those vines arent poison ivy. Its rampant around here. If you do get it Dawn dish soap works well on the rash.

I wonder if you interplanted plants the groundhogs doesn't like with ones they do if it would deter them at all? I'm getting a tree removed hopefully at the end of the month and I'm already so excited to see what I can do with some of the left over wood, thankfully though the arborist is going to see if he can find a wood worker who might like the main log of the tree as it is a gourgous thick trunk

I was more concerned about the tree you were cutting that was pretty tall was also bumping against the power lines. It was thin enough that you could have pulled it away from them while you were cutting it.
