This is a great video for me. Thanks to the SP 4449, 2011 was the year that I took my girlfriend on our first date to Amtrak's National Train Day at Portland Union Station in May of 2011 to see the SP 4449. Then I chased this run of SP 4449 from Portland, up to Kelso, Washington, and back, one month after that, in June of 2011. My girlfriend is now a huge railfan like me, and her favorite steam locomotive is the SP 4449. I used to volunteer at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center here in Portland, and my girlfriend came there to visit me all the time when I volunteered there. I now work for the Willamette Shore Trolley in Lake Oswego, and my girlfriend has been a passenger on the trolley many times when I've been a Conductor on the Willamette Shore Trolley. My girlfriend has also visited me at the Archives of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society at Union Station in Portland. My girlfriend even buys me railfan gear like t-shirts, pictures, model train cars, and much more. We both have gone railfanning together several times. I've been lucky enough to ride in the cab of SP 4449 at the Holiday Express here in Portland. Our first train ride together as a couple was the Holiday Express here in Portland, you guessed it, behind the SP 4449! I've taken my girlfriend all over the Pacific Northwest to ride excursion trains, including the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad in Garibaldi. You could say that the SP 4449 has been a contributing factor in our longtime relationship. We've been together for almost 9 and a half years now, mostly thanks to our good friend, the SP 4449.
I love this video a lot. I also personally love the Daylight 4449 It is one of my favorite steam locomotives in the whole wide world. Awesome job and keep up the great work good sir.
