To add some (imo) usefull essential scripts to the list: -*Automatic LCDs 2* by MMaster (Updated new version of the script shown in the video) -*Easy automation 2* also newer version -*Phils_Ship_Diagnostic* similar to floor plan but optimised for damage assessment -*Self-Aligning Solar Panels* solar panels align with the sun and just for the lols -*Gameboy Emulator* runs a gameboy on a programmable block and a lcd only for pvp/pve fighting: -*Easy Lidar Homing Script* For making homing missiles -*(THYA) Shield HUD Script* for users of the popular shield mod. shows shield status on lcd -*Whip's AI Rotor Turret Control* or *Rdav's Turret-Tracking* to automate player made turrets -*oxygen lockdown* seals off breached rooms -*loop computers* is not a script but a mod that gives programmable blocks the option to run themselves so you don't need extra timer blocks for your scripts
idk why RU-vid decided to promote this vid to me all this time later but man, seeing how SE looked back then brought me back. The old block models, ui, inventory icons, the old tools.. Classic.
I am totally going to be adding these because of this video. Very well done! keep up the good work, you definitely have a good voice for tutorials and you explain things at a pace that inexperienced engineers can catch on before you move forward. Lol if I didn't know any better I would say you were a teacher at some point.
I was actually, plus I have 6 kids and I'm surrounded by people whose first language is not English. The biggest complaint I hear is that I talk too slow some times, but I'm glad to hear that it's preferred by some. :)
After playing this game and completely falling in love with it, i would really like to move onto writing scripts so i would love to see a video by you on how to do it. Excellent presentation btw my friend. Thank you.
Check out this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4tFREVf4Rwo.html it will give you a good start on writing your own without really having to write your own.
I didn't find it in the comments, but I think the issue with the cargo container at 4:36 that is supposed to hold ingots and stone, was that you typed "ingots" twice in the cargo container name. I don't know for sure, but it's the only inconsistency between the names that I saw. Good video, this actually convinced me to get some of these that I had been looking over because they didn't really appeal to me. Seeing it in action made a difference though. Thanks for the video!
Glad you liked it. The second ingot is actually to identify gravel (ingot/stone) as an exception to the first ingot which is all ingots. My real problem (I've learned a lot since then) is that I used P1 in both cases which does weird things. I should have left out the P1 on the first one and it would have taken priority over the second one because specified quantities always beat priorities. Wow that's confusing. I think I explained it better in my complete guide to TIM (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-htnJJ2SzvFE.html) but maybe not, it gets complicated pretty quickly when it comes to priorities.

Not only do the old Space Engineers UI and textures look less refined, but they also look older, perhaps because of the simple textures looking out-of-place in modern design, but also because the UI has a weird interlacing effect.
Do you ever post your videos up on the Space Engineers' Reddit page? Given the quality of your videos I imagine they would go over quite well. I usually post my videos up on Reddit and have had some decent success from them as a result. Not every time, but it has helped.
Nice, I'll have to try a few of those. I've been using Whip's Auto Door and Airlock Script for my airlock needs. It comes with the bonus of automatically closing all your doors for you, even if they're not airlocks.
Ay mate, thanks for the video/showcase of these scripts. Only one question: are these achievable in vanilla by any chance? Like, are these made in game by people or are these like, mods that actually add stuff?
(I know your comment is old but just gonna leave it here in case someone else reads it later) They don't really add anything new to game, they just use programming commands to manage / control the already existing things. Hence it is not an actual modification or installation. They are just program scripts which can be used in a programmable block which exist in the game as default.
Love your content but wonder if some of these older videos could be updated as times change as well as the game does. great content, just about 2 years old and i have only been playing the game for a few months.
? You act like its a bad thing that we use x2 speed. Being able to whiz through a content maker's videos and still be able to understand them is actually a plus point in my books.
loved it had 2 of them but needed the other 3 you covered if you have any ideas on how to use the floor plan script for say a rather large battlecruiser please let me know
So, with the Floor Plan script, how do I get one plan across multiple panels? The picture on the script's page is gone, and the author doesn't explain it in text, apart form saying it's something to do with the command block's custom data thing.
i would say definitely keep the survival going and i saw that you were already planning for another season and that your gonna be adding some mods i think that is definitely a good way to go, maybe some lets build where you build out a ships from scratch with mods etc iall be honest your videos are very good quality especially considering you haven't been doing this for very long just keep it up and i think your channel will do well good luck! :)
Oh yeah, the survival isn't going away any time soon. I'm really enjoying that. A Let's Build is a great idea, I'll have to try that out. Thanks for the ideas and the compliments. :)
what do you think of mARMos? i feel like it is quite important. though i get that not everybody is using that degree of automation. also GFCS is also quite nice.
I am very new to SE and have been recently delving into mods and scripts. I really do not understand the dynamics of the Timer & Programmable Blocks. I first installed Automatic LCDS 2 which worked wonderfully, then I found this!!! I installed TIM, but now I can't seem to get them working... Do I need separate Programmable Blocks AND Timer Blocks for each Scripting Mod??? As it stands now, TIM appears to be working, but Anything to do with the LCDs does not function... Confused and could certainly appreciate some guidance. BTW LOVED this Video. It was enjoyable and informative.. PS I could have missed something as I have been Binge Playing. (Lack of Sleep)
Hi Paul, I found SE to have a large learning curve, fun, but large. With PB's and Timers you will see a recurring theme in that to keep PB's running you need to add a timer to keep them running. Sometimes I share timers with PB's if the script and function and needs are similar, don't go crazy with sharing or you will lose a heap of functionality if that timer gets broken. I would suggest first, sleep, then learn and test and watch and explore and experiment and ask. Setup a TEST world to try things out in first. It will become clearer the more you mess with stuff and then have to ficx it, lol. This Video above is a very good place to start. Good luck and have fun fellow Space engineer.
After about 500 hours (400+ in Lone Survivor Map) I've learned a lot... seeing a lot changes even lately. Got bored on the Star System map when I found the only Adversaries were Cyber Dogs and Spiders... so looking for a new challenge. Finally figured out how to use Timers and Blocks... well enough to get my Mods to work and Play Nice together. Would love to do the Multiplayer thing but I only have a Satellite Internet connection, so that is out.
I'm guessing this means I have to enable scripts in my server settings for this to work? My friends keeps telling me not to because anyone could join the server and easily crash it using it scripts.. Not sure what are the chances of that happening?
Another script I highly recommend is Whip's weapon sequencer. It allows you to set up fixed weapons to fire in salvos or stagger fire. Excellent for making rocket pods more useful. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=510805229
I haven't written any for SE myself, though I have scripted for other games. The community seems to always have something already written that's better than anything I could do for what i need. However if you're looking for a way to write something custom, one of my commentors recently showed me this: dco.pe/vsb/ and it's very nice. I will probably be making a video about it some time soon.
Glad you liked it. Let me know if there are other things like this you'd like me to do videos on. Would you like to see more in-depth videos on any of the scripts in this video?
I am just getting into the scripts myself, i just used mods myself, so every bit of information really helps and you are doing the "tutorial-thing" really well, so maybe do some more. Do not hit me if you already have a monster catalog of tutorial, i just found your channel! ;-)
Funny you should mention that. I'm planning on doing exactly that. And I'm planning on going extremely in depth for each as well. Just got to find the time now. :)
I was just thinking earlier today that the new Automatic LCDs 2 script is out now so this video probably needs an update, which other scripts are out of date? Any suggestions on other scripts I should add in or remove?
From the author of the Floor Plan Script (dummy spit over trolls comments) so the eventual result is unknown. Alysius [author] 19 May @ 10:43pm 1/8 are dislikes, thats a large percentage. Im done with this script. Its still here and ypu can still use it if you like it, but I dont intend to improve it anymore. I have uploads in other non steam games with much more good reviews and less than 0.1% dislikes... You have to be fair to the other community as well... obviously my attention goes there and its more worth while. I think i better stop commenting all together, as my last comment earned me another 4 thumbs down.
And from the author of phil's easy airlocks back in January 2017. PH1L1P [author] 21 Jan @ 12:33pm @theimmersion Well, actually I might have spoken too soon. I'm pretty sure that's the case but I might be wrong. I haven't done any multi-grid testing with programmable blocks. No plans to update in the near future but I'd like to rewrite the script to make it more versatile and easy to use in the future.
