I know that it's one year past already since you post this video and hope that you already find out that you can place a simple passenger seat and remote-control block to operate your craft. At the beginning of the game this combo will give you some advantage. Upd. I watched the video a little longer and you did exactly what was needed in that situation.
They went with realism in a way. There is a thin atmosphere on the Europa it's based on. I believe it's enough to vent if you are a min-maxer with all your resources.
In most mining games be careful not to dig straight down or else you might fall in lava this game don't dig straight or you'll get to the other side of the planet
