Space madness was the title of an episode of Ren and Stimpy. Also Blammo was the fictional company that manufactured "log" from the same show. My guess is these folks like some early 90s nick toons.
Why does no one here realize this pedal is a GIANT homage to Ren and Stimpy?!?!?!!? You need to make a new video playing the Ren and Stimpy theme song with that pedal!!!!!!
@@Nursemedic97 Quit perpetuating an urban legend. There's nothing wrong with pulling your coil tap knob. It's just not something you talk about in polite company.
I know you couldn't resist that name. You are the Mad Scientist of gear testers. I like that you say "let's plug everything in at the same time and turn them all the way up". That's why I'm here
Cool Delay build around good old pt2339 digital delay chip. At the homepage you also see a SA571N inside of it. This is a nice Compresssor Chip. This makes absolute sense. I always use compression after my dely while I am spaceshipping. This prevents getting much to loud.
I think this a great pedal. Back in the day When I was coming up with some guitar skills the Ventures "Out of space" album was one of my two favorites. None of us could figure out how they did that!!???
Blammo stuff is pretty dope, I have the Deth Pedal fuzz they made, pretty cool take on a rat.....also that Red Alert 3 reference, a man of culture I see.
Oooo that's fun! Usually imo weird pedals tend to not have the best sounding "normal" tones, but this seems like a really good sounding delay that you can also make do weird funky stuff!! I was thinking about getting a boss dd-200 but I might have to look into this one a bit more...
Rack the knob and wiggle the stick. These are some sad, deteriorating space delay sounds. Sounds great, to me. This is the "used future" that the best space movies depict, instead of the gleeming, pristine, perfect future. I like space of any kind but I really dig the dirty, cruddy space stuff and this delivers. Ren & Stimpy: Approved! Fitter, happier.
Delay pedals are the best! Even though I have a Helix, I *still* have all my separate delay pedals because sometimes I just wanna from into a simple delay into my AC4TV, and rock it out.
I’ve always wanted an Orange amp just because they look cool as hell. Gain on this sounds really sharp. I usually prefer to have the amp set super clean and let the effects impact how much distortion hits the signal. But I dig this for sure.
Thanks for another great demo! Any chance you can do the Blammo Skrambler next/soon? I've been dying to get one and I know you like wild vintage-y fuzzes too!
Cool pedal. I have an Ibanez Echoshifter pedal that fills in for this stuff. Now that said, I have two Danelectro Dan Echoes on my main board (modded by Alchemy Audio) but those are more to interact with themselves (Slap Back Echo into a Space Echo). The slide control on the Echoshifter is fantastic to play with.
First thing to do when I fiiiiinally get my T.A.R.D.I.S. is get one of these, travel to London 1966. hand it over to legendary producer/tech-wizard Joe Meek, and save his life. (And in the process the life of his landlady). That dude spend sooo much time building machines and constructions in his house/studio to create these sounds, it drove him insane (well okay that, and the drugs, and being decades ahead of his time, and of course the rampant homophobia of the era, which are probably all connected somehow) and now we have that with the push of a button on a small colourful metal box ....
This is just to say, as cool as this pedal is, and though I do appreciate the double homage to Ren and Stimpy cartoon....TC Electronics Flashback 2x4 has a toneprint you can download and install that does the same thing, but more expressively/with more control, using their MASH switches, and also has a looper and several other delays as well as a couple other toneprint slots you can fill with other toneprints - all for about the same price or less. The TC Electronics pedal also has a kill dry switch, and a line switch, too. But this Space Madness pedal does sound cool, don't get me wrong, and it's a 1/3 less the floor size of the Flashback 2x4....if you must have one....
Do I like your spaceship noises? you ask ....... well, No I do not like your spaceship noise ....... I love them! An affordaboard self oscillating delay pedal a couple of other cheapy pedals and you have an original sounding dirt cheap synth. I also use through the aux input of a cheap secondhand korg monotron to get those nice voltage controlled filter sounds! I wish it also had a 3 way switch to control the application of the 'whoosh' when pushing the 'history eraser' button ie 1/ as is, 2/ on engaging only, or 3/ on disengaging only.
Around 21:15 my black cat sleeping on my lap suddenly woke up and started to stare at the screen. Then slowly falling asleep again... she looked mesmerized by the sounds. Cat's seal of approval.
cool fun stuff..if i can afford it on a surfers budget and still pay the bills in the caribbean....really liking that last rif together with the pedal it was getting very interesting😎😎😎😎
Im in the first few minutes of the vid and already this pedal sounds very cool, I just dont get the technology that allows delay pedals to be set maybe a bit on the crazy side and still fade into the background while youre playing, then come out more in between, very dynamicI love it.
Was that "Space!" Tim Curry? (Two Princetons never gets old) I want an experssion pedal that will turn a knob on a pedal mechanically, so I can work delay time like a wah.
This type of experimental music predates the association with drugs by decades, and was originally created by scientists in labcoats. If you dont like it, fair enough, but dont be 'that guy'.... It is arrogant and derogatory, and to be honest makes you look like more of an XXXXX than any knobtwisting pothead I ever met. And no, I dont do drugs, I just like weird noises, and Ryan's weird noises are the BEST!
