Space Marine Sternguard and Tactical Squad Kitbash (WH40K) 

One thing you could do is use the two sets together to make 10 sternguard and 5 company veterans.

I didn't know that was a loincloth, I just used it as a cameoline cloak to put on the pauldrons for fluff.

Looking great! The only lacking detail in these is the loincloth. Getting some greenstuff and making those yourself is not at all difficult and you will get a much more cohesive force there.

I'm probably going to convert these into Crimson Fists Honour Guard by kit-bashing them with Vanguard Veterans for power weapons and the Space Marine Command Squad for the chapter banner. I think that they will look awesome they are done!

Just did this with my templars. 5 sternguard with special boltguns, 5 sternguard with 3 combi gravs and 2 converted grav cannons (from centurion devastator squad) and 5 company vets with 3 combi flamers, 2 normal flamers and all 5 with chainswords. Of course I dipped into my bits box for the extra weapons and templar specific shoulder pads and torso fronts with tabards and stuff but they look damn cool even if they are just made from mostly tactical marines

Nice stuff, but wouldn't it be a bit hard to paint some of the models if you have the weapons glued onto the models and blocking the chests?

This kit had a good run but im still sad to see it go. It really feels like there isnt this much freedom and ease anymore.

An SM offering the hand of friendship..... Reminds me of a certain song - "We come in peace, (shoot to kill)... lol. Have you thought of using green stuff to make some loin cloths ? Just roll it flat, then sort of scrunch it slightly to make folds, and shape it a bit to fit the models.

I'm thinking of doing almost the same thing.... Sternguard and Tac. Squad boxes, and I want to make 10x Sternguard, and make a Tactical Marines. This will give me more options with my Tac. Squads, as well as the possibility of another Tac. Squad, or maybe Devastators someday. I need 20 Sternguard, so 2 boxes of each for me, and maybe a Devastator Squad or some extra bolter marines to make a 3rd tac squad.... let me know what you think of Sternguard in the new book....

a point, you said youd prefer to see more left handed space marines, but theyre ambidextrous anyways arent they? That thoughts made me think why they all dont fight left handed as it would give them a significant advantage over other opponents who are used to fighting right handed individuals :P

Tip for ya if they have power armour and a bolt gun try legit can be played as sternguard in tournaments

Only criticism I have is you have no footage of you actually kit bashing. I love the concept but there’s nothing worse then just seeing you handle unpainted minis while just talking. Try filming yourself actually putting them together :)
