“Incidentally, you might want to look up the word ‘churlish’ before you do anything ‘stupid’.” I haven’t played this game in over 2 decades, but this line has always stuck with me. Probably my favourite line.
My old school friend had this game on his PC in the early 2000's. I used to have Space Quest I-III and other Sierra On-Line games on my Amiga 500, such as Police Quest I-III, King's Quest I-III and Colonel's Bequest. I still have Leisure Suit Larry 1-5 on my Amiga 500, and I also have Donald Duck's Playground on my Commodore 64 and Amiga 500. 😺👍
55:10 An anecdote concerning this game I wanted to share. This one time back in the 90's, I went with an older sibling to a friend's house and watched them play the game. When they got to the segment where Roger was kidnapped, we had to head downstairs to the basement to attend some sort of party. So for the next hour, hour and a half or so, I could hear this song playing over and over and over... some might have found it annoying, but I thought it made some neat background noise. Alas, my sibling's friend finally went upstairs at some point and shut the game off. Shame; I wouldn't have minded listening to it until we left. Memories are strange like that.
I always was able to get to the apartment because I watched my uncle play through up to that part, but got stuck there (I think that you needed the manual to solve that circuit puzzle?)
"Do you have anything INTELLIGENT to say before we pronounce sentencing?" That line cracked me up back then, however the game never really worked on any machine I ever owned and I guess watching it being played here on RU-vid might because of that be the only option to find out how the story ends... :(
@@collinparks6414 Hmmm yeah, I could take a look there... Would only make me pay twice, since I already have the game on CD-ROM. I ran the game on DOSBox where the game constantly crashed on me after Roger arrives in sickbay after being saved by Stellar from those two goons. Since I have the original CD-ROM it couldn't be anything like "pirated version". Since the version on steam is likely only a DOSBox wrapper (like most DOS games sold over GOG and Steam) I'm therefore not too sure about doing this.
I forgot this game even existed. I mainly played 1-5 on my old IBM, but I remember this being the first one that was on CD-ROM. I never beat this one so it's cool to see what happens after the first little while, I will never forget the 3 stooges fighting game.
