Baseplate Protection, Smoother Assembly - 3 Mins of Effort! Taking a dremel sand wheel all I did was bore a standard base plate spacer (which I buy 10/1.00$ here bit.ly/3gaoV4O) to fit around the neck of the handle. VERY simple, and now it assembles without the grinding, and without the wear marks!

Great shave Josh! I agree, it does look OEM and it's one of those things if Shane catches this vid, it might be something that they adopt. I don't know the size on the inner neck, but there might be an ABS or Teflon washer that fits it without modification that Blackland could include with their razors. I'm familiar with that grindy feel and I've modified some tools I use because of it. Ah, the 90's. I keep hoping someone will do a soap/splash using Joop or Opium, but perhaps a little less sweet versions.

Here's to hoping!! I keep meaning to go to the local Depot and see if they have any that is similar, but it's a wild goose chase, when this was only a few seconds of work. I figure the vector comes with a spacer, the BB should too!! Thank you so much for watching my friend!

@@SubieShaves Oh, I'm familiar with the wild goose chase! Just try to find small plastic washers that are really thin, it's a nightmare!

Nice hack for a beautiful razor. This is one of my WANT razors but unfortunately the only thing I can afford are the spacers (lol). Great video as always.

That's really cool! It's such a nice razor that I can see why you'd want to avoid wear and tear at all costs! Are there any issues with the stability of the handle/head connection? I know Tatara has a design where the head doesn't screw onto the handle, but the handle screws into the head. I personally can't see why there would be issues. You're lightly dragging it across your skin, not chopping wood with it.
@SubieShaves
@SubieShaves Год назад
Hahahahah no wood chopping!!! 😂😂 No instability that I can see at all, but it was some effort to get fit, so I assume that's why they don't offer them like this. Regardless, we made it happen, and it works awesome!! 😂👍 Thanks for joining me my guy!

Excellent video as always Subie My question to you is how easy was it to turn the satin finish into a polished one ? And do you have a video of how to? Thanks for all your effort and time ❤
@SubieShaves
@SubieShaves Год назад
Hi! Thanks for the question, I am sure for some of the people that do it for $ - are fast, efficient, and polish the 6S quickly. I went pretty slow - it's not a hard process by any means, but It does take a lot of patience. Some razors bare metal is better than others, and the 6S has some rougher metal under the coating. Upon removing the coating you may find some warps, dents, or oddities that can't be fixed with a polish (as it will change the shave). I mention that because I was surprised myself to see how many spots were simply hidden by the satin finish. I did a video a LONG time ago showing my process here, with a Yaqi razor. It's basically the same process just a little longer. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ht3LAC1RzJM.html 👍❤️

Torn between Blackbird and the Vector, any suggestions?
@SubieShaves
@SubieShaves Год назад
Both are good, but since my vector came with some blade binding issues I would give the nod to my Blackbird. I love how easy it is to use and I just get really good shaves with it. Comparing the AC to a DE is a bit tricky - since they do feel different. If user habit says anything, I probably reach for the Blackbird 3-4x more than the Vector. Thanks for the question!
