"I don't know if I want to eat all of these" I already knew that was pure 🧢the second he said that lmao. I already knew he was gonna eat of it in one video.
I wish Ben got more views. This is such a comfort channel for me. These days I spend alone primarily, and when I eat lunch I always throw on some Ben Deen and it kinda feels like I’m eating with a friend. Love these vids, keep up the great work, and I wish you overwhelming success
Right, I don't get why they sub to his channel or anyone & don't watch the shit is annoying. I think RU-vid needs to have a feature where those who don't actually watch your channel after a few months are removed from your subs
@@TrVlogs82 Obviously when you use youtube for like 10 years and subbed to 500+ channels its impossible to watch or stay interested in every channel, and the idea of losing subs after not watching for a few months is definitely not great either because 95% of the channels would lose so many subs and money from it.
SPAM has very humble beginnings in Korea. Right after the Korean War ended, American GIs left tons of canned SPAM for local citizens to eat. At that time, South Korea was a poor nation and thus, some citizens incorporated SPAM into a few dishes for extra protein. It become popular nationwide after that and has carried on over generations. SPAM is extremely popular in Japan, Korea and the Philippines. It's also very popular in Hawaii since the state has a huge Asian population.
Man I really can't miss a single ben deen video. Its been routine for me for years now and its mindblowing how connected i feel to this man who just eats the most random things in the most random ways
If you wanna an amazing simple quick meal, dice up some Spam and fry in a wok or fry pan until the Spam is super crispy and then mix in some egg fried rice with kimchi. You've got yourself a 'mighty fine' meal in under 10 minutes!! The kimchi gives the fried rice the perfect amount of kick and raises ordinary fried rice to a whole new level!
@@lloydkim3990 my comment wasn't aimed at Ben directly , I really meant it for anyone who reads it. Heck, I'm not even sure he reads the comments since he's NEVER ever replied to a single one! (which is totally fine with me) 😉👍
Pretty sure Spam is our official state meat of Hawaii. Spam and over easy eggs all over some shoyu soaked rice? Heaven. Don't knock it till you try it.
I think it tastes light because spam is so full of fat that it just melted away when it was in the deep fryer and all that’s left is a protein porus fried mass that less dense than when you started. That’s my theory bur does look great though. Spam and pineapple fried rice is pretty easy to make.
Here in hawaii we got used to it because it was a good miliotary ration way back in the world war days. I think the same can be said for korea as well during the korean war.
I'd guess they boil the spam to get some of the salt out, then bread it and flash fry it real hot for a short time. They might have also used an air fryer.
How is this not a staple in the southern US where they fry everything! As others have mentioned it looks like a thin tempura batter that’s fried quickly so it doesn’t absorb much oil. I like spam so I’ve got to give this a try.
They probably boil the salt off the spam first then bread it and fry it. I eat spam about twice a year but it seems to make it light and fluffy when I boil some of the salt off.
This is what my mom used to do, but we would boil the spam first, to reduce sodium and make it "healthier", that's probably how they make it, boil it first, and then fry them
If you're going to try this at home, make sure to use Korean spam. American spam's texture is very different and will not be close to what Ben is eating.
Sub " the wrong " Way has a SPAM Sub for 17 BUCS & they use the whole can on 1 Foot Long & they even throw in a Bag of their Pork Rhines & a Freaking Cookie 🍪 !!!!
If you pan fry the spam in slices till crispy the meat gets the same texture... me likey... my theory is the fat that is locked up in the meal loaf melts and leaves little pockets of flavor...
Looking at the cross-section, it looks as though the spam gets dried first, causing it to suck in the oil and "Puff up", causing that deliciously airy and crunchy texture
