This was super helpful! Thank you! I would love an end-of-the year update for how it went and what you plan for Spanish 2. I am considering doing this over two years for my high schooler, but I'm also looking at Spanish Geniuses. I'm having a really tough time deciding! 😬😅

I did a mid year review and talked about. It wasn’t her favorite curriculum. We decided to give both Spanish I & II credit since she finished it. She wants to starry Hebrew in fall so I was fine with that. I think foreign language is just hard to do for homeschool unless your child excels at it. And unfortunately, I am no help at all with this subject. Have a great summer!!!

My son is doing BTB spanish 2, and we like it... BUT I probably wouldn't use it for a first one since you almost teach yourself with it. Maybe the first one is different than 2, I don't know. The BJU online course he took for spanish 1 really did an awesome job preparing him for spanish 2.

@@evegem8978 I don’t believe so! I would just move him into college Spanish if you don’t want him to miss a year. Or start 10th grade and go three years. Hope this helps.

Song School Spanish from Classical Academic Press is great. We used the Latin as well.

@homeschoolculture Thank you. I'm currently using a textbook meant for adults to teach my 4 & 7 year old. They're doing well with learning the vocabulary, but they need more fun activities.

¡Hola!, just the beginning, ¿Es usted normal? What kind of question is that, are you "normal"? Define normal, but that's philosophy, not Spanish *first steps* haha. I can't see how you can learn a language without a "human" to correct your pronunciation and mistakes and explain the hows and whys. In a language like Spanish with so many verbal forms, we have almost more irregular verbs than regular, masculine and feminine, gender and number agreement between nouns and adjectives, and accent marks that change completely the meaning of the word, be careful with that, lol. It's funny and complicated if your native language doesn't come from Latin
