Both of those choices would be a stand alone meal for me. But I do have to say I would choose the tuna burger over the other one.

My contribution to the flies in the open air is that a lemon slice should never be missing from the plate. When you squeeze it, it drives them away. As a southern Spanish, I understand that black salmorejo is an extravagance, and that not even flies come near it...perhaps because of the vinegar. Regarding the white cube with the fish, it is an anachronism that 007- James Bond- implemented as an iron rule in the 60's of the last century. Lol!

Tacos is my favorite spanish dish! I eat tacos every friday. But I can not compare my tacos to authentic spanish tacos, yummy😋

I love the usual salmorejo so the black version would be interesting. I only started eating salmorejo last summer when I was having some dental work done and I eat it all the time in the summer now, I prefer it to gazpacho. I also drink red wine whether I am eating meat or fish, I don't understand the wine snobbery that exists with different foods. I agree with Joe Bloggs regarding the lack of vegetables with the main course, it just doesn't seem right to just eat meat or fish with just chips especially as there are so many lovely vegetables to be had in Spain.

I think the red wine pairs well with those two dishes because they look very rich so the red serves as a good palette cleanser. Never had the salmorejo red or negro. I would venture to try it and as far as the tuna burger, one can’t go wrong with that.

Muchas gracias por el video Stuart. Had a decent menu del dia in Llanes on Monday. Went onto Ribadasella for the day stayed over night. Absolutely a beautiful gem of a place reminds me of belagio or lake como. In Gijon now until tomorrow. Then on to Cudillero for a couple of days

I'm probably very traditional but with fish and seafood one should drink a very dry white wine. There are many of these in Spain!!!

Hi Stu ,fantastic video I really enjoyed it and I will definitely put both dishes on my to try list, we are 30 km from Yunquera and go up to sample the famous Molettes from the bakery in the village, we also have the Pitufo down here and I was wondering if you are familiar with the Pitufo, cheers

Squid ink is almost pure melamine. I've never got burned by the sun and I'm not a physiologist, but nonetheless think I'd try squid ink if I had a thin pale skin. My hair is getting grey. I might try on this.

I like the traditional salmorejo better than gazpacho, but I have never seen this black version. I think it might be particular to this restaurant. The tuna burger looked great, and I would add that Antequera is worth a visit, as apart from being the spiritual home of the mollete, has pre-historic dolmans and a lot of other nice stuff to see. Totally agree about the wine snobbery, I drink red wine with everything. Edit: Some spotty youth at Google seems to have changed my name, or 'unique handle' as they are pleased to call it. I tried to change it back, but the necessary apostrophe is not allowed. Google does not approve of grammar, apparently.

Sorry to hear of your Grammarly woes! I don't think I could face the thought of black soup, but I like the idea of the tuna burger. It would have been nice to get a closer look to see how it is formed.

Interesting food combo. You might be eating British squid since I believe most squid is imported from catches off the Falkland Islands.

Two advices: Be sure you didn't run out of toilet duck before eating something with squid ink in If you go to Calatayud, don't ask for Dolores

Not a great fan of salmorejo or ajo blanco. I find them too rich, but I’d certainly give those dishes a try

Made that first course with squid ink only yesterday and OK I cheated with Salmorejo from a carton. But it was great! (and yes, I DID brush my teeth after. Had to, as you say!). Will try that tuna dish soon and report back!

Asturias has Salmon that comes in at sometime in the year (March - April el campanu) and fabada with crab or clams

Stuart, what about pan con aceite y tomate for breakfast? Are you a fan? Also.. Elections wise. I think Vox will become more "lax" as they wanna taste some of those juicy euros paid by all taxpayers. In Teguise, where I live it seems there will be an agreement between three parties: Coalicion Canaria (Canarian nationalists) Partido Popular (Spanish demochristians / nationalists) and Vox (Spanish far-right). What a mix haha. Que aproveche!!

I personally would not choose those dishes. I think dishes should look good as well as taste good .And that black salmorejo certainly doesn’t look good to the eye . I wouldn’t choose tuna burger either , chips floppy n unappetizing . No it’s a “ No “ from me . P.s I eat everything but that wouldn’t appeal to me at all .
