If you're an EU citizen and you need treatment when visiting another EU country, you get the same treatment as the locals. As healthcare in the UK is free, it means it was free for this Spanish family.

May depend how she reacts to it. Anesthesia doesn't affect me as strongly as other people. If I need dental work, I usually end up on Gas or knocked out. Local anesthesia has little effect in me. My father is the same. Still, could have just been scared though. Foreign country, foreign language. That's enough to upset her.

I was sitting in one of those little merry go rounds, with the seats and a pole with a steering wheel in the middle. One of my slippers got stuck behind a metal bolt sticking out of the pole in the middle, while we were spinning around. So my whole left leg got twisted around that pole. If you want to know more about the story im happy to tell you. There's a lot more stuff that happened and the doctors almost fucked up my leg while casting it

Hell, I'm 29 (and from the UK) and I was in Portugal last year with my (Portuguese) boyfriend and his family and we were walking in the city and I had put one foot into the air to step off the kerb and in a split second I was moving backwards so fast was almost on my ass. I had looked the wrong way and was almost hit by a car doing a decent speed, only my boyfriend grabbed my t-shirt and yanked me back, I don't even want to think of how nasty it could have been for me! It freaked me out so badly that I would make such a careless mistake, that unless there are pedestrian lights, I let him decide when to cross any roads when we are visiting his family!

it depends on a lot of factors, such as location (there are only 3 NHS funded helicopters based in Scotland and the rest are all charity funded) and I am guessing for an injury like this, compared to say a major RTC they decided that two paramedics was enough?

Most are staffed by one emergency doctor and one or two experience Paramedics plus a pilot obviously.

@@tkralva.6668 Christ people are so judgemental. I almost did the same thing at 28 years of age - almost stepped out in front of traffic in Portugal despite having been in the country for weeks and been very familiar with what side of the road they drive on.

I make ones comment, don't blame anyone but make an observation about my personal experience and clearly state that it is difficult when not used to it. But you always get idiots who want to judge and think an accident cannot be avoided. Accidents cannot be avoided. I find people like others who say I am wrong in stating what I did with the my daughter to protect her very judgemental and it is as though they consider what I did child abuse because I didn't let muy daughter near a road alone for a 2 months until I was happy she was just and understood. But yes there are times when accidents happen, they happen to people born and bred in the country who have no excused for not knowing the direction. I made a comment to advise parents when travelling with children to be careful and suggested how to help reduce the risk of accident. But many consider that advice to be wrong. Glad that you support me and how judgemental peope can be when they don't understand the reasons behind my comment.

@@jakemills-uv2lw yeah but they're on holiday. I live in the UK ik we have free health care. People who come here on holiday have to pay for the health care. We technically pay for it through taxes and because they don't live here and were only here on holiday they'd have to pay. Just like how if we went to Spain we would have to have insurance.

@@heather9537 Until the UK leaves the EU, you have free healthcare in Europe via the NHS without needing insurance. This will change after Brexit where we will all need extra insurance.
