In this video you will learn advanced Spanish topics. First, you will learn what participles are, how to form them, when and how to use them, and why it is super important you learn them. Second, you will learn to form sentences that require advanced tenses, like past perfect, present perfect, pluperfect, and more, and that require you to know the participles I am teaching you by heart. Third, you will review the first, the second, and the third Spanish conjugations to help you to build participles more easily from scratch. Even more, in this lesson you will learn many, many verbs in Spanish. Maybe you knew some verbs already, and you will review them, but many are going to be new and I promise you they are going to be useful in every single sense. So, I did my part, so now do yours, and watch my video, take notes, and make this world a better one, the Spanish world.

"many of you subscribed to my videos and then don't watch them." That is because we have advanced AND you are doing to many basic Spanish videos. Maybe you can either concentrate on more advanced Spanish or have two paths or do a video for basic students (you already have a lot) and ones for more advanced students. In fact, you mentioned doing podcasts where you only talk in Spanish; that would be great! I'm waiting for that.

Ana, your upbeat energy and enthusiasm are empowering! Thank you for the great video(s)!! I'd like to add that of course, the conjugated form of haber with a past participle is never separated as you said. The only time "the mother" comes between haber and a past participle is when haber is used in its infinitive form with an indirect object pronoun, followed by a past participle. Such as: Gracias por habernos dado esta revelación de los tiempos verbales compuestos. (Thank you for having given us this revelation of compound verb tenses.) This is a rare occurrence, however I thought it worth mentioning. By the way, my granddaughter wants to know if you still have your dog Frodo? Chao! : )

You are very helpful in the way you teach, however, if I did not know the very limited amount of Spanish that I remember from four years of high school Spanish, oho, I would not know some of the words you are saying. I have the pronunciation thereof pretty much aced. I am able to access cooperation by suspicious older people in nursing homes to draw blood samples for testing by the doctor's orders, and you'll never guess how. I actually speak to them in a very heavy Spanish accent in English. Magically, those who have said, "no inglés, no inglés" and waved me off as if they are done with me, got a very special surprise when I repeat the same words I had said, but, with the heavy Espánish accent. As soon as they heard the accent, "lo siento,' ...y salieron muchas más palabras en Español", that they said or something else in a similar tone, as if to say, "shame on me", and give me access to their arm to draw blood. When they were obviously waiting for me to either answer a question, or they expected me to say more, I would explain, "yo (Joe) no hablo mucho Español , pero yo se lo que se muy bien" (with a very satisfied grin because I had remembered to say that much but could not understand what they were saying for it was spoken too fast, and when words joined together and you don't know most of the language....), or I would act like a comical Dracula or introduce myself by smiling and saying, "soy Vampira...quiero beber tu sangre"... and make vampire lady l'm gonna pounce you motions, or slurpy sounds, but maybe give them a hug and excuse myself for having woken them up at 4:30 in the morning. Phlebotomists are known as vampires don'tcha know... Or if I was in a real hurry and really wasn't in the mood to put up with people trying to refuse giving the blood I have to draw and take back to the lab in a quick-quick, it was, "hola... me llamo Charita... Yo necesito tomar un poquito sangre para el Doctor, ¿ok?" whilst I began to strap their arm and alcohol swab it...pull out tubes and needle, and...stuff. They were very impressed with this gringa! Especially when some of the crabbier people would call me names, due to some sort of mental disorder, I suppose, as they were not kind or polite as I know most Spanish speakers to be - unless they are cholos y vatos from da hood/barrios/gangs. ¡La Señora Rico y el Señor Davila estarían muy orgullosos!
