This is just a short video on removing the sump on our TEA20 to give access to the bottom end of the engine.

Just took the sump of mine today, as well. Its had a hard life, lots of weld repairs I didn't know about until now. Keep up the good work Lance.

Another great one Lance. That's a lotta nuts n bolts! Glad to learn that tip about loosening the front axle supports as I'm sure I'd be levering away cursing why it wouldn't drop easily...

@@temotu518 yes I did the rear engine seal as well as the sump but I haven't done the ropes on the rear main as I had no need to.

When I took my sump off no onl;y was there metal flakes there was also a half moon shaped key, where could that have come from? I suspect also my oil pump is not working as tractor has virtually seized since being ruin for the 1st time in 20 years.... any help or advice would be great.

Key possibly from the oil pump drive by the sound of it on the fitting the distributor part of this series I show it.

Hi Bundy, wondering if you would be able to tell me what the type/size of the 3 bolts are between the sump and the transmission case, currently my tractor is missing all three, and despite my best attempts I can't find them in the parts manuals. Thanks in advance.

Hi lance. Is there a gasket needed for where the 4 bolts from the sump meets the bell housing?

No there is a rope or felt type of seal there.

Hi Lance,In this video I noticed you have a jack stand under the tractor, is this definitely needed when taking the sump off?

Yes as the front end needs to be undone a little to let everything come out and then to lay under it for a look it just makes sense I reckon.

Just took mine off my tef20 was wondering what the gauze thing was also found a crap ton of water inside as it had been sitting in Typical Irish wether for about 37 years also just got it unsized so it should soon run

Hi. I have got a 35x which need a bit of care. I am changing the filter. The one I am a bit worried about is the sump strainer. It isnt like this one. Is there anything I should be carefull about or can I just remove the sump plate and take the strainer out?

The strainer on the 35X in under the sump as you have a Perkins engine not the Standard Motor Co one. You can drop it for cleaning though.
