I'm really enjoying it myself. not sure about the 24 point i think 19.99 would have been more fitting. I enjoyed it at pax and bought it day one to support the small dev team. might be on my top 10 of the year

TheLevko1 You can’t compare one game’s price to another in that way. If a great game has a low price, then its an outlier, not the standard quality:price you should expect.

To clarify; monster variety, visual variety (areas, color schemes, etc) it just feels... weirdly barren. But nothing a little extra polish couldnt significantly improve.

Comparing this to Terranigma isn't fair. That game is a considerable classic with history and a game world that's fun to explore and expand upon. This is a roguelite that people notice because it looks like a Zelda game from like 20 years ago.

every area is procedurally generated, but the different zones are always in the same general direction. If you win a run by beating a boss, the enemies will respawn but the map won't reset.

You're correct. Still a pretty good game when it's on sale. Steam has a huge sale on it through the 7th.

It's nothing like Moonlighter. Moonlighter, though lacking depth, had good game design ideas that were fun. This game, however is dog shit.

it's not always about percentages and scores. despite the flaws the guy seems to have enjoyed it somewhat. that may have an influence on your decision making but it's still up to you to make up your own mind.

It is except fewer fighting options, a really cool customizable system, and kinda wack items that are super slow to use. There is a patch to speed them up (equip item, not a game mod), but it's only a little useful. With a better story and more variety to combat, it would be an 8 or 9 out of 10. Right now, it's a 6 or 7 depending on how you enjoy rogue-lites.

​@@seymourglass26 yeah, the offensive items are barely worthwhile having at all, considering how worthless they are fighting notable enemies. The boss fights render them all but space fillers. The whole 'first you build the shop with this stuff, then you create things with this stuff, then you sorta level up with this stuff' is a pretty repetitive gameplay loop and one that genuinely doesn't get much better with time. The first half hour is pretty indicative with how the rest of the game plays out.

I know this is old but I just grabbed it the other day for $5 and was well worth the purchase
