I prefer Rons blurriness. It gives it some weird humor

The versions I have, has the blurred photo on the back. There's not a single bad song on here for me, I love nothing is sacred, Angus desire, the louvre, girl from Germany, here comes Bob, and whippings and apologies. But my favourite song from woofer is moon over kentucky, probably in my top 10 favourite sparks songs. Thanks for the review Larry. I'm looking forward to kimono my house next.

I bought the album A Woofer in Tweeter's Clothing in 1973 and became a fan right away. I love the humor in all of the songs, but my favorite songs are the more serious The Louvre and Moon Over Kentucky.

I absolutely adore this album! Might be the strangest, most unique album of 1973 & that’s truly saying something!

Again, like the first album, the first and last songs are my favorites. The Underground is great too. Whipping and Apologies has to be my favorite Sparks songs so far. If you told me to write the lyrics as you hear them I would fail miserably. I was shocked when I first read them!

This album is growing on me. It used to be one of my least favorite from Sparks, but I am starting to reconsider it a lot. Actually it is the one I listen to the most often these days. And that include Nothing Is Sacred, which I didn't care too much and it is about to become my favourite track of the album now :)

Great to know. I think I hated the album on my first listen, as I bought Woofer and their debut at the same time and Woofer was so much weirder but now of course I love it. I just don't like the last minute or so of Nothing Is Sacred. One of the few times I don't like Russell's falsetto but even that I have warmed up to over the years.

@@canadianstudmuffin I can really relate to your comments. I'm at a point where, over the last couple of years, I've become a HUGE Sparks fan. I'm at the second period in my time as a fan when I ONLY listen to Sparks (it's been this way for like four months now I think)- I love music, I love a lot of bands and songs and have discovered a real taste for artists from 70's and 80's in the past few years, but I just can't bring myself to listen to anything else right now and it's happened one time before. So I challenged myself to actually go through the entire discography again, a few more times this time around- I did it before and some albums I just couldn't get into, like Big Beat, Halfnelson/Sparks, Woofer, Interior Design, Whomp That Sucker and Pulling Rabbits. So I've fallen in love with Whomp That Sucker and then with Rabbits shortly after and they've become two of my favorite Sparks albums. Halfnelson/Sparks has finally grown on me- I used to find it weird that Sparks has a relatively-quiet album, but I love it for that now. I learned to really like Big Beat's songs and Interior Design's as well, where I could maybe really only listen to Big Boy, So Important and You Got A Hold of My Heart out of these before. And what I still consider to be one of the weirder Sparks album, has become one of my favorite Sparks albums, as I now love A Woofer In Tweeter's Clothing- I used to not get it at all. It was like the even weirder brother of the first album. I loved Girl From Germany and that's it- It just got so obscure after the first song. What basically happened was that I learned in the BBC interview where they premiered the Girl Is Crying In Her Latte, that in the upcoming tour, they are going to play some less known tracks from the more obscure albums, so I began guessing what these could be- Beaver O'Lindy was one of my guesses, even though I didn't know the song that well, I tried to listen to it couple of times to see if it fit my imaginary setlist. I was preparing for my first Sparks concert at the Royal Albert Hall on the 29th. Then, some weeks later, I got spoiled by my own RU-vid recommendations that the Mael brothers have Beaver O'Lindy in the first show of the tour. I squealed with excitement and began learning the lyrics to the song. By the day of the show, I loved the song so much that I started listening to the whole album patiently with maximum curiosity for the first time ever. I recently even went through all the demos and unreleased songs as well as other Mael brothers projects just to soothe my obsession a little, haha. The only missing piece from their discography for me is Anette- HBO is not available in my country and I'm looking for ways to watch the movie somehow. But until then, I intend on not listening to the entire soundtrack (which already has songs that I loved). The best and worst thing about being stuck in this awesome Sparks loop is that there's always more to discover and definitely always an album or two to go back to. And they really inspired my writing which has certainly gotten better since I began listening to them.

Took a class in college that was on'60's Rock n Roll. Jim Lowe's (of The Electric Prunes) daughter was a student in the class, so Jim was a guest lecturer when we were covering psychedelia. I have one Sparks' album, Kimono My House, but your enthusiasm is making me want to look deeper. I like group shots on album covers. The Beatles' mugs were on most of theirs and they had some of the most iconic covers ever. Of course if you're Motorhead, then cool artwork is probably the way to go.

Music might be very personal and subjective because for the love of me, i'm trying to get my friend to enjoy Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa, but he just doesn't get the absurdity. I find so much beauty in these kinds of groups. Actually he likes keep it greasy and one size fits all album.

A Woofer in Tweeter's Clothing is opening the core 4 Sparks 70's decade. This strange and eerie album is excellent, especially side A, which is impeccable. On a Sparks, One Album One Song playlist, I select Moon Over Kentucky, well I have to choose one because any song from side A could have made the list.

A Great Album In My Opinion!

Funny that, I didn't like Woofer much at first and sold it, but missed it a year later, so I had to buy it again. Now it's one of my absolute favourites. The production was just a bit ahead of its time for me anyway! Once I had got my head around the unfamiliar sounds, it worked. The songs are top notch. All of them. "The Louvre" beats One Night In Paris (10cc) and A Song For Europe (Roxy Music) to first place in the Eurovision song contest. Angus Desire I reckon was a influence on a young Morrissey....who also took to Russell's shrieking on "Nothing Is Sacred" for "Miserable Lie." Whippings And Apologies" is a perfect summation of the Velvet Underground of "European Son" with its lyrical brevity and atonal guitar and machine rhythms of "Waiting For The Man" and the S&M undertones of "Venus In Furs." "Moon Over Kentucky" is a spectacular track reminiscent of "The Green Manalishi" by Fleetwood Mac with its slicing guitar chords and whammy bar playing. Love it.

The Louvre better than A Song For Europe at Eurovision! Such a surprise.

Sorry Larry,Sparks may be clever and talented but I can't understand a word Russell's saying and what's with the weird European accent?,like I said, they're very talented and clever but they're just to weird for me. Bob.
