This song has my favorite verse from any Sparks song, which is very hard to determine. A friend of mine zeroed in on it also. "But how 'bout a somersault until you are blatantly fun, Do that I'd be stunned, I wish you were fun."

Magical. I mean, really. Even after 50 years, they're still at it, creating these lovely, relatable, and funny songs that instantly worm into your head and are there for DAYS. "How about a somersault until you are blatantly fun? Do that, I'd be stunned" Just utterly wonderful.

We did a Sparks poll in the forum pages on their website for everybody's favourite song of the 'Hippopotamus' album. This won. Sparks fans are happy people so it kinda just tunes into all that I guess. Brilliant album of course & the next one is in the works.....

I wish you were fun, I find this music charming, light like butterflies just like them, these two boys, two wonderful artists dear to my heart ... When I listen to this song, I regret not having learned the tap dance ... I think that Russell's voice in this album is sexier and more mature than in Sparks' previous albums, even if I am still fond of his very high-pitch way of singing of the mid-seventies

They (Sparks) are true artists! A poem that is so appropriate for what is happening today!!! This corona virus is really impacting our culture and behaviors!!! And business!!! I for one do not want to live in a pandemic or apocalyptic future world (a la "Mad Max" "Road Warrior" "Walking Dead") Where I have to live day to day wondering if I'm going to eat today!!! Or killing to survive. Remember the movie "12 Monkees"! It was a movie that involved a man made virus that killed off most of the human population and humans could not live on the Earth's surface!!!
