The moment I saw "Spawn of Oggdo" pop up on the top of the screen my heart sank. It unlocked traumatic memories. They knew exactly what they were doing.
@Ravenko thanks, it can still get you in the early frames of the second jump, but thats much more consistent. Just completed Fractured History using that tip.
In fallen order you could force pull the tongue toward you and cut off his tongue when he does the tongue attack. I haven't tried this one in jedi survivor yet though.
Think more Sekiro and less Dark Souls. My issue with Sekiro was having that Dark Souls "dodging is the best defense" mindset but it's blocking and deflecting that get it done. Same thing applies here, the only difference is that this game and its predecessor are way WAY more forgiving than Sekiro.
I'm the opposite. I only beat after I realized that side dodging was a thing. Keep close, hold forward while side dodging, and wail on him while he does his two bite attacks. Bonus hits if he decides to barf
@@SlayerRunefrost Nah the parry system in Sekiro is better, the bosses better designed, and the telegraphs are actually good. Jedi Survivor follows the Dark Souls 2 method of large enemy group spam, instakill attack spam, borked hitboxes (especially for grabs). Also the boss telegraphs are trash, somewhat slow wind up then a faster than light attack. From are smart, they have one diffculty and everything is balanced around that, Respawn balance around normal only but have multiple difficulties and then things end up wildly imbalanced at master or not even worth the time on easier, putting this game anywhere near Sekiro when it comes to mechanical quality is absurd.
That was my conclusion after the first few attempts. I just came from playing Fallen Order, seen this and thought I should start with the first game for the sake of the Story. Dodge wasn't the best in Fallen Order, but compared to this it wasn't bad at all.
It's so stupid. The game tells you to dodge unblockables and then gives you enemies where that doesn't work. If this case occurs, it should say "blocking doesn't work and you need to try something else". Or better yet, have a separate attack indicator where blocking **and** dodging doesn't work.
For anyone that’s having trouble. Right before you enter the pit there’s two raider brutes that you can lure and bring in inside the pit. They will fight against the frog and take a chunk of health. All you have to do in stand back and spam the blaster while they fight
@@Romnun25 the rancor took me 4 tries until i realized his attack pattern and he'd stop glitching out. I figured there would be a hidden trophy or something as I didnt really look up all the trophies... nope lol. they really should of had one for the bone in its mouth attack you can do but oh wells.
I pulled the two bedlam smashers down. Got them on the circle and I jumped right when it opened to avoid falling in. Then I watched them fight and by the time the beast killed them it was down to like 10% health.
You can also trigger the trap door then jump to the side, then do a stealth jump attack on Ogddo. If you died prior save it until later in the battle so you can heal up.
Hey guys btw if you let the droids fall down first then jump away you can stay up top then after he kills all the droids and he starts walking back you can jump down to the door and open it really fast.
Thank you my G! Maaaan I tried my hardest not to look up how to beat him ... I wanted the satisfaction winning my way ... but after a while I'm like forget that! I know when a game is stacking the deck against me lol ... Salute to you! 🫡
As others have said, I cheesed it by pulling those Shock Knights into the abyss. Funny thing is that I fell in too, but they were too busy fighting each other, I just waited until the last man was standing, which happened to be a shock knight. I kinda feel bad for going about it this way, but also there's nothing fair about Spawn of Oggdo, it was no longer fun after 2 hours of trying
that definitely is not enough anymore. must be a recent patch. the oggdo will now easily kill both knights. in 10/10 cases the toad is left standing with ~40% life or more.
For the tongue attack, I recommend double jumping instead of actually dodging. I found that even if you do a regular dodge/dash, it will still manage to hit you successfully (which I find is bs.) I just took him out and I used the double bladed stance and slowed him down whenever possible, which allowed for 2-3 hits, depending on what stage he is. It also took me a lot of attack prediction, as he doesn’t have a fixed pattern. But the reward is well worth it😮💨
I also just got to this area, I haven’t even found Greeze yet. I only have 3 health canisters, but spent most of my points on maxing out the hp branch of the skill tree
@@chillazilla4959I jus got the game the other day…..all I was doing was exploring before I found greez lol and man oh man this F****** toad is annoying
i played through the first game on the hardest difficulty and that dude would just one shot you every time. probably took me like 20+ times to beat him.
@@Jr18x- and my biggest problem is that the meditation point is very fkin far away from oggdo... i have to run to him, kill like 10 droids, die, repeat...
The Rancor was fun and challenging, this one is just frustrating. I never lower my difficulty, but for this one it was story mode after 10 tries and I destroyed that little shit. Glad I'm done with it. On to better things.
Thanks for the tip. I was lacking aggression in this fight, you tip to block and then attack or attack while jumping was very helpful. I bested him on GMJ
on higher difficulties (jedi master at least), where it's more aggresive, i found the blaster stance to be the easiest (preferably upgraded with extra ammo and longer dash attack when you hold LMB). bait its charging attacks (red glow), and when it's red, you hit it with the charged blaster and it will stun it, EVERY time. it also stuns it during its regular attacks, but i think it's best to use the charged pistol only on reds because they're more dangerous. once it's stunned, just hold LMB to do a saber auto attack, which replenishes a bit of ammo. rinse and repeat and itll take ya around a minute. also worth mentioning - if you died beforehand and now have that yellow orb in the arena, which replenishes the lost HP and EXP etc, pick it up once you're out of blaster ammo, because it will fully refill it and make the fight even easier ;) video on my channel of the double boss
Haven't seen enough people saying this. The blaster stun was absolutely crucial both for adding openings to attack and for creating opportunities to heal. I had him effectively stun-locked for the entire final third of his health bar by doing exactly what you suggest with the glowing HP spot.
JUMP TO THE SIDE for the tongue attack. The tongue at range will always grab you if you are on the ground and in range, unless you are directly in his face, then dodging to the side does actually work (as shown in this video). Normally though just space yourself away and double jump to a side. Honestly jump/double jump toward and to the side of him works for every single one of his red attacks, which is amazing, except the red bite (it killed me so many times because it's the only attack he does that i even press the dodge button against lol. Bad muscle memory) I beat it on the second hardest difficulty early in the game using dual sabers. Even with the Attack canceling and parrying you can do with those, it felt like there was never a single opening against the boss on the hardest difficulty, so i turned it down because this boss just breaks the game in enough ways already. Extra aggression was just too much
I think the best Stradegy is when you see him become Red make it your Reflex to Sidedodge first ,then jump imidietly. The only attack were Dodging works and is required to avoid is also the only attack were you wouldn't be able to jump after the Dodge before being Hit.
This is why I genuinely fucking loathe the combat in these two games. Lightsabers aren't at all realistic, and are more glowing sticks. Jedi Academy, and Outcast still absolutely shit bricks on Fallen Order, and Survivor.
@@Game4Lord the game you think you want would be insanely boring unless it was purely lightsaber duels the whole time with everything getting one shot. This kind of combat is perfect for videogame lightsaber action in my opinion.
This boss is so furiating. Not just because of it's "mechanics" but also due to the location. Having to fight your way past the same 9 druids over and over is really annoying. And I think the boss is bugged as well. Just a moment ago he did his charge attack, I double jumped over it and before I hit the ground he used his oneshot-attack with the tounge while I had no way to avoid it. Not a good boss in my opinion. He is easy to read but it's hard to guess what's the correct timing to avoid some of his attacks (especially that tounge). Are there any good rewards you get for killing that thing? Otherwise I'll just leave it. Been fighting that thing for 3 hours and at this point I really don't want to bother with it anymore. I have enough of this stupid frog.
I would say skill issue, but I do not remember having it this difficult with this enemy in the first game. Either it is the new moves that has him a lot more aggressive, or it is the fact that I am playing on a solid 28 FPS, because fuck this game's optimization.
He's pretty hard but fair appart from the tongue attack. The tongue attack is actually broken, and ista killing? Cmon.. just a tip, double jump over the tongue. Dodging most of the time doesn't work, it catches you anyways even if u do time it right sometimes
I just the poncho from beating him. I think there’s s pyrite in there as well. But not worth the time and effort I put in. I’m not even going to have Cal rock the poncho.
Before I got to this video, I managed to beat him. Not sure if I recommend using my strategy but this is what I did: -I managed to push some other enemies down on the pit to deal as much damage as they can - Equipped with the big damaging stances (crossguard and double-bladed) -Distanced myself from most of the fight; this is necessary because you need to stay away when Oggdo does the tongue grab. -jumping and using force dash when he charges at you -Threw my lightsaber majority of the fight -Attacked head-on with crossguard in force slow (or whatever its called) -Used up to 5 stims (all that I had at the time of the fight)
Little tip, u can cheese the fight. There a 2 big guys with hammers above the hole u fall in. Pull them over the hole and then drop down with them. Dodge around until they start killing the boss. They'll get the boss down to about a quarter health ur lucky
If you save this boss for later when you get blasted stance , a charged shot can stop an unblockable attack so charge shot him and hit him 2-3 times and repeat
If you’re really tired of this fight I would say use try getting some of the droids stuck down there with you and then run to the side of the room and open the door while he’s killing the droids. You can then go save and heal and come back and just stand in that doorway and attack and retreat over and over until he’s dead
The tongue attack is broken, jump as high as you can when you see it and it's a much better way to avoid it then dodging. I swear, there were times I perfect dodged it and it caught me anyway. I wish they'd fix this... appart from that its a fair hard fight.
Blaster stance, basic powered shot stuns him out of unblockables even, then you can get 2-3 hits in. Figured this out pretty quick luckily and ONLY took 30 tries 😂😅
Thank you!!! I finally did it as soon as I saw you could jump forward and over it when it lunges I found it way easier 🤣🤣 what a F**king nightmare that was
Guys I found the easiest way to kill it. All you need is blaster stance. After u fully charge ur triangle attack it staggers it and u can land 2 basic hits. Let him come close to you and just before it attacks release triangle and land 2 basics. This combo interrupts his red attacks. As long as u have ammo ur golden. I’m playing on hardest difficulty. Best way to avoid tongue attack is to double jump preferably towards him to land one cheeky atack.
For anyone not looking for cheese, just dodge horizontally, get to his side for most of his attacks. I did it on highest difficulty, with a lot of health and 8 health regens. Definitely a sloppy run, but had just figured out this strategy. Don't deflect the normal attacks just dodge to his right (didnt try left) and get two swings in with the first lightsaber stance. His second normal attack usually just goes straight passed you because he doesn't rotate well. Dodge to the right when he uses the red forward snap, you can attack after. Double jump the red dash attack where he puffs up and try to get a hit on his back. Jump over his red jump attack when he leaps and tosses up debris. When he regurgitates you can hit him on his side safely, lol just dodge and attack his side. Run horizontally for his tongue attack, he already makes a lot a space for this attack. At mid range i was able to just run and dodge in the same direction I was running. Use your lightsaber throw when it's safe for extra damage. Good luck!
your suppose to be able to push or pull his tongue, if you look closely you can see the blue particles around his tongue when its fully extended letting you know you can use the force on it I forget which one works on him but its just like last game if u do it right u get some dmg for it
It is broken this damn thing is broken. The tongue got me and I was clear out of range and at one point my attacks didn’t even work. I still beat it but they need to fix this. May the force be with everyone who challenges this beast
Blaster is best stance for this fight. Quicker even than one handed and whenever you see him jump to a corner to tongue tag you, charge a blaster shot and interrupt him
I found a fun way to beat him. If you skill into Unrelentingly Pull in the telekinesis tree, after you kill all the droids, there I’ll be two humanoids above on a cliff. Pull each one down and run around until they are both centered. Jump in and dodge until both are beating Oggdo. They do not die easily and easily do 50% of the damage you need before they die.
I pulled the two shock knights down from the left ledge above the platform and jumped down with them after triggering the platform with them on it. I found that they don’t do enough damage by themselves so I spammed Oggdo at the same time and sailed through the fight.
Fun fact: in one of my hundreds of tries, I fell in with a droid. I fought him with the droid trying to help me. When I died the droid said "Its impossible to beat!" and died soon after 😂😂😂😂😂 That was literally the only funny moment I had all evening. Btw, I still didnt beat him
The easiest way to beat spawn of oggdo is to force pull the 2 enemies with the hammers above “the trap” then make sure they are standing on the door release the door dropping them and you down into the pit then let them fight it for you I’ve done this with many enemies it can be done as soon as you’ve unlocked the strong force pull
@@SawyboiWasTaken nah the first game was a cake walk on the hardest difficulty; I beat every boss 1st or 2nd try, but this game’s enemies move much faster and have way less stun windows except the storm troopers enemies are much easier in this game
Im going to be so honest, i’m playing on the hardest difficulty and i thought that rancor was the hardest boss so far… no, this fucking frog is. i have absolutely no shame to say the for this boss only i put the difficulty on story mode and stuffed my white kyber crystal saber so far up its ass even darth vader would give me a side eye. fuck this boss but i still love this game :)
Lol that’s what i did too. Ngl, the Blaster Stance carried me for half the fight. 1st half was baiting out the red charge atk since afterward, it guarantees that next atk is a regular bite, in which i respond w/ Force Parry from Dual Stance. It cuts down a good amount of health assuming ya make the right read & Oggdo isn’t gunna walk up & do a red attack. Then the rest was charged Blaster shot to get the hitstun & get a quick swipe in to get any blaster recharge in. The consecutive bites Oggdo does when in 1/4 health territory can be F-Parried too but dicier to determine when he got his other red atks in the mix
This was EA saying to From, "anything you can do I can do too". This boss is just as hard as any From boss I've played. I mean, I'm sure I could think of one or two if I really wanted to, but I don't. Just like in a From game, you're going to die over and over. The Rancor was actually kind of easy. And I loved the ability to stick bones in his mouth like Luke. (Only you use The Force... not your hand).
This boss wouldnt have been such a problem if his hitbox wasnt absolutely abyssmal. The amount of times i jumped over his bite attack with well over 2 meters between me and his jaws while still getting clipped. Damn this was frustrating.
That's funny, I came up with the exact same strategy, with more jump attack to its front when it is coming at you. With good timing with distance you can gain an additional hit before parrying twice and hit again. I also used to throw more the lightsaber, every bit of damage counts, still a very annoying boss. Another alternative aside pulling down the big guys above, is to have enough droid upside so they can throw grenades at you. You can push those grenades back to the monster for additional damage. Havign them firing at you is not much of an issue, as you always move around or parry most of the time and attack only a very little at once.
This made me realize how awful the tracking and defending against heavy attacks is, I’m can be behind or overtop of him and still loose half health and the younger cathes me even if I howling push him, shit is just garbage
Easy(and i mean very easy) way to defeat spawn of Oggdo: After defeating all the droids standing on the trap door you can use force pull to bring the two hammer raiders down from the ledge above; make sure they are on the trapdoor when you trigger it and allow them to fight the boss for you. They will nearly kill SoO by themselves.
I’m currently trying not to lose my shit on this part. Twice I tried pulling when using double bladed and thought “maybe it’ll let me pull the tongue if I use single blade” just tried rn and I have no clue why it won’t work. I love this game so far but fuck this boss bro it ain’t worth ruining your fun
@@LilTimTyrant Yeah, I’m losing it too. Playing on the hardest difficulty and I’m getting 1 shotted by most of his moves. I even have a few health upgrades through the skill tree and force echoes.
This boss and Sigrun the Valkyrie queen both on my first played through made me turn down the difficulty, I have never felt this amount of shame in my life.😢
@@elviraweekes3906 don’t feel ashamed. This boss is just crap. I managed to beat it without lowering the difficulty, but I can’t say it was worth it. Spent over an hour being 1 shot by grab move. The move is basically impossible to dodge if you are near it when it starts.
Cheat: kill the droids up top then make sure you fall down next to the door, if you're quick you can unlock it before combat initiates and you can just cheese him at the open doorway.
I killed him on grandmaster using dual wield and blaster stance, first I just keept out of his range and used up my force bar using dual wield saber throw from a safe distance, aka far enough to dodge out of anything it does, then I switched to blaster stance because charged blast will stun if for a moment (thanks whoever mentioned that one on reddit) , it will even knock it out of red attacks giving you the window for two safe pokes with the saber to regain ammo. Felt a bit cheesy so I´ll try something else on new journey+ but give the fps drops I got in the area and it something doing weird stuff like chaining un-blockable attacks together It felt justified. this vid is good though. just mentioning there´s alternative ways.
Im a souls veteran, a skilled one too, im ashamed to say that i killed him on story mode... I hate myself, especially since i completed the story on jedi grandmaster
Baffled that your Oggdo doesnt link normal+unblockable attacks into one. Tried like 20mins and mine kept spamming normal into fast red bite, really annoying. Good guide tho for jump dodging the charge attack.
This fight in particular made me wish I had that crossguard stance because after many death i SOOOOOO wanted to make every hit hurt as much as possible
With full upgrades to crossguard you go in, use Slow, charge up a heavy arc while he's slow, with the slow upgrade you can get 2 of those in for big damage, then play defensively and with saber throws until slow is back up.
Forcepull the two guys above. Then fall with them. Let them distract the boss away from the door. Go through and wait for them to die. The boss got glitched on mine and tried to go through the door. So he got stuck and it was free damage.
Ill give you the ultimate cheese for this enemy.... Go to settings. Lower the difficultly to story mode. Defeat it. afterwards, raise difficultly back to desired level. TADA
1 hour and 45 minutes roughly for me. The easiest way I found was the blaster stance. I would charge my shots which would stun him for 1 second which is enough time to put in two jabs which gives you more ammo to do charged shots. I would pick up my xp from my last death which restores my health and ammo for me to repeat the cycle. I ended up killing him in about 5 minutes with this strat which at first didn’t seem too effective.
I just pulled down one of the electric hammer guy that standing above the hole you felling down to spawn of ogddo, used the pull force, and hammer guy makes like 40% dmg on spawn of oggdo
Im playing on Jedi Knight difficulty. Was about to set down the difficulty for the duo Oggdo toad rift. BUT! One last coffeeine induced shot. I beat them with dual and pistol stance and RAGE!!! At JK difficulty with max health upg. You can survive a tounge latch chomp with sliver of health left. Also had 12 stims. Have near 100% the game only lack doing the Rancor duo tear fight and some attack/ ability based achievements. I will see if I can survive the Rancors " one shot grab & bite " while enraged aswell 😂
I hope this helps some people, i force pulled those 2 big fuckers off the cliff with sledge hammers down to me where you open the floor to hop in then i corralled them onto the platform and when it opens double jump to the side and let them put in work on oggdo before you jump in
Just beat this boss on Grand Master difficulty, 0 cheese, on Series X with the worst fps rate of all time. Game was freaking out after a few attack inputs from him and would get me killed. Never been so satisfied killing a foul beast.
This boss was so artificially difficult, took me 40 mins on jedi master, I ONLY WON BECAUSE OF RNG, this boss has the possibility of spamming its bite attacks to which it doesn't give you time to react you are required to parry them else you'd be stance broken and get 1 hit, HORRIBLE BOSS DESIGN.
The fact that you gotta kill this guy again, from the first game, to unlock ponchos is a sick joke from the devs. Edit: I just went back to the clothing store. Fuck this game lol.
