Segoor - sounds like "seguro" in Spanish with the same meaning, like "secure" in English. Thank you for this video series, I don't know any Hebrew but love learning about how languages work, how they think, and how they're used in real life.
Oh, that's a great question. My answer has two parts. Yes, because when you learn Hebrew you can read the Torah in Hebrew and understand the words you read. It's the same language. In the Torah, of course, we have some ancient Hebrew as well, but all in all, it is clear to those who know Hebrew. But, and this is important - understanding the Torah is the work of a lifetime. The hidden meanings, the Torah is written in a very, very concise and precise manner. There are interpretations and deep spiritual learnings. So one can understand what they read, but can they understand the meanings? This depends on how much one deepens in learning and if one finds good spiritual teachers.I will say though if you want to learn the Torah and really learn it it can really only happen in Hebrew. I've seen translations and it's not even close. 🙂
