Webster, N.Y. (WHAM) - Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley was the main subject of public comment at the Webster Town Board meeting on Thursday.
People from across the area sounded off at the meeting and called for accountability and an investigation into how the police department handled the traffic stop.
"If it were anyone else, the police would have detained Doorley and given her a breathalyzer test because of her behavior and demeanor," said one speaker. "The officers didn't demonstrate that no one is above the law."

@@DKK I totally agree with you. Read my comment that I posted today, Friday May 3rd. She needs to be charged, terminated and spend time in jail and not be given any special treatment by the courts as she failed on all accounts on this matter. Doorley needs to spend at minimum 5-8 years in jail just for this incident and be charged with every single violation that she committed. I’m counting around 14-18 violations of the laws that she needs to be charged with and be found guilty on all of them just by her actions and her words that she used. I feel sorry for the judge who gets this case. As that judge has to find her guilty on everyone of them just for what and how she did when she finally stopped for the cop after she pulled into her garage at home. I can’t believe the chief or the mayor haven’t demanded her termination and arrest as of today. That just shows the double standards and special treatment the cops and the judicial system is giving this CORRUPT, INCOMPETENT, DISGRACEFUL, IGNORANT DA , SANDRA DOORLEY and every citizen in that city must demand to the Mayor and Chief of Police that Sandra Doorley be arrested and charged with every violation and infraction that she violated and broke. New York Penal Law § 270.35 states that unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the first degree is a Class D felony. A Class D felony can result in a maximum of seven years in jail, five years of probation, and a $5,000 fine.
@sackpac4902
@sackpac4902 27 дней назад
It wasn't reckless driving. In New York, you have to be going at least 25 MPH over the posted speed limit or driving recklessly while attempting to flee AND knew a cop was trying to pull you over, AND another person was killed as a result of your actions. That is 1st degree. But she also didn't violate 2nd or 3rd degree fleeing a police officer. It would be more like a misdemeanor charge of failing to stop or cooperate if NY has that type of law.

If she had been running stop signs and lights, driving through lawns and up on sidewalks, or crossing the center line and nearly hitting opposing vehicles head-on, then yeah, but she wasn’t. Negligent? Maybe, but that’s pushing it. Speeding alone does not prove reckless driving without more facts and evidence as to intent. It must amount to more than proof of just a mistake in judgment or inattention. Evidence must show her failure to behave in the same manner as a reasonably prudent person. It must constitute culpable or gross negligence. Is it somewhat common for people to drive 20 over? Yes, all over the country. Is it common to see someone 30+ over the speed limit while cutting in and out of traffic, crossing the center line, and almost colliding with other vehicles? No. While some states establish a fixed speed-over-the-limit that is reckless driving, New York does not. However, a police officer has the discretion to charge a driver with reckless driving if excessive speed is COMBINED with one or more factors that make the driver a danger to others. Such factors might include disregarding pedestrians, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving through a police barricade, or DUI. She was speeding. Period.
