Stepping down would be the honorable thing to do. At this point, she must be aware that this story won't go away, that her conduct puts pressure on her whole office and that her office might never recover if she keeps her position. It will not end well for her, her whole career is now tainted and her colleagues will want to leave before being labelled as corrupt too. Shame on her for prolonging the inevitable.
@@scottmichaels6854 WRONG. Under Article XIII governor Hochul can fire elected officials including DA's. Governor Hochul should use that power RIGHT NOW.
@@essevaikonpaa5184 they're doing her a favor by allowing her to resign. She can keep her benefits if she does. If they fire her for cause, they can cut her off.
Yes, I agree. I think that anyone else would have been on the ground being put in handcuffs the minute they tried to leave the garage and go into the house.
Her actions weren’t “stupid,” they were *criminal*. I’m sure she and others in her office have prosecuted motorists for fleeing, eluding, and obstructing over way less than what she pulled.
And you know she would prosecute Joe Public to jail based on nothing but the officer’s accusations. You just know she was one of those hard nosed prosecutors who would never release someone because they just don’t have any evidence of all that.
He did not have the true backing of his superiors. The best they said is “I won’t take the ticketing of her from you” (not a direct quote) Not a single one (lt, sarge or chief) told him “I got your back” in any type of words.
100% accurate. Why is everyone glossing over this part? The focus was being put on her being “disrespectful”, no, she was CRIMINAL and didn’t get charged!!!
If your suspicions are NYS CORRUPTION up to the governor’s office, a DA that spit on her Oath of Office and is causing a mockery of the judicial system, I concur👍
Yes, indeed. That's why there's so many outraged people demanding she be fired. The 'common folk' are sick of these VIP high muck-a-mucks breaking the law and getting off with slap on wrist. UNJUST system being exposed.
Ethics can't be taught at this late date. Ethics are taught from a child thru their formative years then thru early adulthood. She is essentially now what she will always be unless she has a significant emotional event that will cause her to completely reexamine her life.
She has already had all the training there is. Given a month she could write an entire master’s thesis on what to do in this situation and why off the top of her head. But once she learned shortcuts and chose the shortcuts over the book, then it didn’t matter because she had already made the choice to do it wrong anyway.
on the original body cam I looked up the GPS coordinates off the video and found exactly where her house was. the cop kept saying "I was following you from Phillips rd" well no matter where she was at on Phillips road her house was a significant distance from that street and through a subdivision so the fact she says she didn't know he was pulling HER over is a load of crap. it's amazing the cop didn't do a felony stop and pull his weapon on her when she PULLED INTO HER GARAGE btw people that doesn't absolve yourself of no longer being on a traffic stop! I'm sure most rational people know that but it seems there are fewer and fewer of them in this crazy world we live in
How can anyone speeding up to 20 mph be convicted of it if challenged in court. Anyone fleeing and eluding the police should not be convicted. The only way aro7nd this she needs to be fired or resign.
That’s the key point. She should have just taken the ticket and apologized for speeding. I believe she was intoxicated and was trying to avoid getting tested
It wasn’t even about the fine. She was so used to playing Simon Says with everyone around her she couldn’t bear the thought of standing down and humbling herself to a cop, even when she was wrong. No ethics training is possible because she’s already chosen to do wrong when she could write the book on right and wrong.
If she needs to undergo training on how to act properly during a traffic stop, she's completely unqualified to be in the position of prosecuting other traffic stop offenders. She needs to go.
She needs to be dragged out of her office, kicking and screaming if necessary, charged for all her crimes, jailed and then given a court date like a normal citizen. She can plead innocent as she has a right to, then have a real prosecutor present any and all evidence, her attorney representing her, and then the judge or jury deciding her guilt. If found guilty, and it sure looks that way, be sentenced like an ordinaty citizen. Did I miss something in civics class? Do they even teach that in school any more? But, her being the officeholder she is thinks the rules don't apply to her. Am I missing somethingbhere?
Anyone else who tries that would be tackled the second they exited the vehicle after fleeing from police. She's another wolf in sheep's clothing. She needs to resign, point blank!!!
What a joke. If I ever get in trouble I will tell them I was stupid and will monitor my behavior and attend a class that you will pay for along with all expenses
The whole thing is absolutely disgusting!!!! She needs fired immediately!!!!! If they don’t then they need fired as well!!!! She deserves major jail time!!!!!!
It's too late for a breathalyzer test , but not too late for an arrest. The Police need to go to her house and say "surprise, you are under arrest for fleeing and eluding police and for resisting a traffic stop on April 22, 2024" Then take her to jail and book her. Let her spend a night in jail and have first appearance the next morning so she can bond out. That's the way the rest of us are treated under the same circumstances.
The Police chief or whoever the supervisor was who asked the cop with the bodycam to step outside so he could speak with her off camera should also be removed from his position.
This happens ALL THE TIME. It's one big buddy system. Notice the police chief she called asked which cop was there. It shouldn't matter which cop was there. He was asking because he knows who's on the take and who isn't.
She didn’t even try to talk herself out of the ticket she jus didn’t care she wasn’t gonna stop or comply wit any of it. She didn’t believe she had to. Uhh news flash, yeah you do!!
She acted unethically. This was not a “mistake”. She used every excuse & misrepresented the facts repeatedly. She tried multiple different ways to abuse her position. There can be no trust going forward. She must be fired!
Rarely, if ever, when these type of things come to light its the first time! When people of power have no respect for the law, then they ROUTINELY break it.
A New Jersey port authority member tried to bully cops( whipping out a badge and demanding details)that pulled over her daughter( all in the car where of age)and her friends for traffic violations and it cost her her seat on the board. A job does not give you a free pass to circumvent the law.
I still think the main issue is not being addressed. It is not just her using her position, but the very fact that she was treated the way she was treated. With that said, both her, and all the cops involved on that day, are to be investigated. We all know, any of us would have been riddled with holes the moment we didn't pull over.
This probably would’ve faded into obscurity if she resigned, but she clearly wants her cake and eat it too because of her sense of entitlement. Now she’s lucky if they’ll let her just resign at this point. This is going to follow her everywhere she goes for the rest of her career, at any job she applies for.
@@scottmichaels6854 at what point do show some honesty and admit that Trump is being attacked for political reasons ? (And I didn't vote for him in the last election.)
@@Sondan1988There is massive proof that he committed crimes. It’s NOT a political witch hunt when there are witnesses and a paper trail to prove he broke the law repeatedly. He consistently lies and says that nonsense hoping that someone, anyone will believe him.
No matter how many times I have watched this video I am still SHOCKED, Officer the public stands with YOU as an honorable example of the LAW being enforced. IF this woman remains in position along with her supervisor, then this should be brought to a HIGHER level of inspection to ensure due punishment which without a doubt would be a FIRING immediately.
This is all BS They're still giving this case special treatment by delaying and saying we are sending the facts through appropriate channels. Fire her. Her values are compromised.
hes right if it was just an avg citizen doing this , they would do a felony stop in your driveway guns drawn then you be cuffed searched car searched then you be arrested for fleeing,,,you see it everyday...this stop makes you not trust her office and next time someone doesnt pull over in rochester they are going to tell the cops they want the same treatment as her so you have to restore some order in this town
Her comment "Go ahead and ticket me, I'm the one that prosecutes them" sure sounds like the ticket/charges would have quietly disappeared if not for the public showing of the body camera footage.
@@essevaikonpaa5184 LOL Governor Hochul is so crooked she could hide in the shadow of a corkscrew. And AG James has repeatedly and publicly refused to investigate the blatant corruption in the Governor's Office.
Even the lawyers are saying she needs to step down and resign! But she won’t because she’s power hungry, therefore she needs to be fired. The governor or the Department of Justice need to step in.
That she doesn't have the integrity to resign on her own accord speaks volumes. She's got a personality problem, and that impacts all she does on the public's behalf. She has to go.
For those who didn't see, THE DA's severe punishment! Her fine was $183, wow, bet she had to get loan, that taught her to respect the law? So 2 hrs. pay from her taxpayer funded paycheck, to "take responsibility" of her actions? Fine did not cover cost to the taxpayer for 5 officers WASTING THEIR TIME to manage an out of control(pasted?) "IMMATURE ADULT"? They missed out on the drug and alcholic test which would have given her a DUI!
