I feel like the Reds and Blues could improve Family Shatters and Zero. It's similar to how a dull character like Wash wasn't memorable in Recovery One but spending multiple seasons with Caboose can generate comedic moments and all while allowing the story to flow at a fast pace. It's unrealistic since a lot of the voice actors left and too many of the characters from both series share similar characteristics. Plus Lopez really needs a much bigger role, the poor guy hasn't been relevant since Season 2 while Sarge had so many amazing moments, Simmons and Grif somehow survived 17 consecutive seasons and Donut became an antagonist and then the main character in the final 2 seasons.

Sarge: And then I said "you just got Sarge'd". West: That's amazing. Give me your opinion. How does "you got West'ed" sound? Lopez: (Dear God, Sarge's stupidity is spreading to the new generation.)

This episode shows that they can mix the new characters and old characters pretty well. Personally I don’t mind if they don’t but a lot of people will like it more if they mix in the old with the new (if they mix them well, not like tucker last season).

Missed Sarge and Lopez. I hope there is a chance we’ll get to see Wash and Carolina come back since they were in the previous season with shatter squad. While I like the current direction of Shatter Squad, I can’t help but miss the Red and Blues.

I know the Neo dodging bullets scene is really iconic and cool but you DO remember he still gets shot in the leg doing that right?

Even though it wasn't Lopez's voice actor, I really liked that Lopez was there as a head that insults them and no one understands what he's saying.

I actually… LIKE… the writing of this episode?? Always a pleasure seeing Lopez again… even if he isn’t Burnie. This proves that the dialogue writers are fully competent. This is not what we want to see though!! The amount of straight-up rejection the fans have shown Zero and Family Shatters is not surprising to me, and I agree with a lot of it. But I DON’T think RVB is dead. In the past couple days I have watched seasons 1-15 again, and I’m actually excited to get to 16 and 17. I love how things keep getting pulled back towards blood gulch, and our favorite cast of iconic characters. 5 seasons of blood gulch, Church “time travels” and relives the events of the first few episodes from a different perspective. In season 9, Epsilon relives an altered version of the original Blood Gulch. In Season 14 they return to the old Blood Gulch in many ways. Funhaus reds, Flowers and VIC, even a Lego version of the canyon. In season 15 we see an alternate version of the Gulch and counterpart versions of our characters, living out the same events. In season 16 we really do time travel and see old Church. And the setting for season 17 is the entire series!! The true core of this story is our characters, Grif and Simmons, Tucker and Caboose. Doc, Sister, VIC. And they keep getting sucked back into this stupid box canyon no matter what. There is no escape for them. And the entire time, they are still going back to the core lines of the series - you ever wonder why we’re here, all they do is stand around and talk, you can’t pick up chicks in a tank, it looks more like a puma, etc. That is the CORE of the show, no matter how far off the path it goes, our heroes are time and time again filtered back into this empty desert with nothing to do. The Director, Chorus, the AI gods, all roads lead back to Blood Gulch. And I get it - the voice actors are gone. Joel is gone. But after being discouraged by Zero, re-watching nearly the entire series, and now seeing THIS short… I say RVB is not dead. I don’t know where it is going, I literally have absolutely no clue, RVB has always been insanely wacky. But I believe in Red Vs Blue, and I trust that one day, we’ll all be back in Blood Gulch, standing around all day, talking about life’s great mysteries.

Was really hoping for Caboose to be the special guest. But eh....what the hell. At least we got Sarge, Lopez and Santa
