In the more than 25 years we’ve been filming flights in the cockpit we’ve filmed Washington Dulles a few times but this is our only flight in and out of Reagan National and I’m very glad we were able to feature this airport as well as our only flight into Denver DIA and New York La Guardia on the Air Canada Embraer USA program! Well that was it for this week on You Tube, see you back on Wednesday for 5 new videos!

You should do more videos with Jeff Lewis - such a cool, enthusiastic captain.

Washington DC, ur well pretty much trained Captain, I learn a lot from this video, a immediate left turn after take off I'll aways remember that...

Very very nice 😊 reminds me of the immediate left turn out of JFK with Concorde.

Techy111 still flown on the Canarsie climb since aircraft need to get away from the LGA arrivals which are following the east river a few miles away. Even arrivals on the 13’s require a tight turn to final and an extended base

This take off procedure applies only for aircrafts taking off from Runway 1only or is it applicable to all the runways at Dulles international airport?

Dulles is about 25 miles away from DCA/Downtown DC, so its departure procedure is not considered "special" the way a DCA departure would be.

What happens if a pilot snaps and just decides to fly into the white house?

Probably get a close encounter with a SAM.

Well either the other pilot would try to fight him, the White House has a secret missile launcher and shoots it down, or the plane just crashes into the White House...

Could happen any day. However a lot of things would have to go wrong to require that to occur

I don't like how some people over exaggerate the terms "immediately" when they wait a couple of seconds before they turn or "vertical" for when they pitch up to 30° on a "vertical" takeoff. For me "immediate turn to the left" means as soon as the I see positive rate I'll turn to the left. These guys turned at what, 400ft? That is not "immediate". I'd like to see people being more accurate with their descriptions, nothing wrong with the video description, it's the captain that bothers me here.

dude? what'r u? new?....1st of all, it's Part 121 or 135 'commercial carriers procedures to "not make any turns in those turbines before 400ft?....if you knew much about flying or aviation, you'd Know That?...second of all...yes, that was Immediate ( after gaining just a few short seconds of safe altitude) what?...you think it'll be just fine to 'bend an airliner full of passengers over, at 30 ft off the deck...maybe scraping a winglet on the runway ( or worse) ...just...wow. that comment of yours clearly tells us all, that...your just a random clueless RU-vidr, and know little about flying procedures.

Actually under IFR rules, nothing happens in second segment climb before 400'.
