great bikes. like the look of the newer model. i think the epic 8 evo frame is heavier than its predecessor. flowmountainbike weighted the new epic 8 evo frame (2100g incl. shock and almost 1800g sworks model). The weight of the older sworks epic evo model is around 1680g if i remember correctly
Hi, could you tell me please how tall are you (asking about Epic Evo rider). I know you got size Medium frame, I am 5'10 and in-between M and L frame. Many thanks
I am 5-10 too, got a large 7 and if I was getting an 8 I would do medium. I’m on 40mm stem and the bike is stable! The medium 7 seemed to low in the front. You can likely go either way.
Yes. It does feel a smidge long, so I opted to make the bike shorter, 35-40mm stem, seat rails forward also makes the seat angle more steep and 165 cranks really help. In medium I had to run 60 stem, 30mm of spacers, rails back. I am in rough desert area and need the stability. If I was in the woods, I might have went medium
I’m 6’3” and went with the XL for the longer wheelbase and stability. I did have to go with a 50mm stem as the 60mm felt weird on my back and the 45mm didn’t have enough weight on the front for grip. The 50 was a great compromise and I just move my body position as needed. Definitely go to the store and check the fitment if you can. The #’s are different as this is shorter numbers than my Ripmo BUT the stock ride was more stretched due to the stem and slack seat angle.
